FO3 NPC Killable?

Well since normally TTW begins in the Capital Wasteland and ends after the Battle of Hoover Dam, it doesn't matter whether you complete FO3 main quest line, because you can always fly to Mojave as long as you can afford a ticket, does it?


So, will there be problems if all FO3 NPCs are made killable?

if you kill off the entire CW, it will have no effect on the mojave.


perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

I'm not sure, but in fnv if you kill a NPC who's essential to a quest, the quest will fail and you'll see a message about that. But in FO3 I don't know. If you kill an "essential" (normally you can't), will the quest be broken?

Of course it depends on the specific quest, but knowing generally how Fallout 3 quests are staged, if you kill an NPC who's involved in one, it will most probably break.

generally, devs don't bother with figuring out if a quest is failed by way of npc death when said npcs are essential
