Lock Picking Guide

Post by RainbowMagicMarker » Sat Aug 22, 2015 10:57 pm

So I'm new to Fallout 3/NV and consiquently new to Tale of Two Wastelands. I have general experience with the Elder Scrolls series but nothing in regards to Fallout and a friend recommended that if i was going to start in that I should pick up a Tale of Two Wastelands when I did so. So if this is the wrong place or if my fruitless searching just managed to overlook the thing I want please point me in the right direction!

That said, I always hated the Skyrim lockpicking, so you can imagine my frustration when I load up F3/TTW and it's the same lockpicking system. This isn't skill this is blind luck and gambling, I hate it. I was hoping that there would be a mod like the Skyrim mod Lockpick Pro for F3/NV/TTW, but alas my frustration that there isn't! Anyone know where I can find one? Or have an inkling about how to go about making one?

pinto's mod, linked above, is pretty good.  there's a few other lockpicking systems out there too.  or if you think it's stupid that you can only bypass locks with hairpins and screwdrivers when you're better armed than the BOS and NCR and smarter than the entire think tank, you could try Better Breaching, in the mod releases section.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

This is the one I use. Granted it is a cheat mod but I hate the mini-games. Lockpicking I actually do not mind so I use the version for guaranteed pickpocket and guaranteed hacking. For the hacking, you still need to have the requisite science skill.http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/34829/?

My computer specs are too embarrassing to reveal, but the game still runs.
