Pacifist escape

   Hello,


 


 as far as I know, there is no such mods, even if I must admit it's quite surprizing so I must be wrong.


 


 During the first quest, we must get out of the 101 vault with our good old bat. This intro create many problems in the credibility history, a 19 lad would decimate all more experimented, grizzled guards, furthermore, it mean that this guy will kill people he know since he is a young child. 


 I think that there should be a pacifist option. 


 For instance, by passing a 35 speech check (so only people with a speech tag and a few charisma could reach the test) with Officer Kendall, Officer Hannon, one with the overseer to says Officer Mack to stop attacking.


 What do you think of that ?


 I would like to do it by myself but unfortunately I have no modding and coding experience.

The game offers a pacifist option.


All you have to do is run from (or sneak past) the guards (I always run, I never kill anyone in the vault 101 intro scene besides some radroaches). The game even facilitates this by distracting the first guard with some radroaches attacking him (so we have time to just run).


Maybe that's why no one ever wanted to make a more in-depth pacifist mod.


Another reason might be that most people do not like Vault 101 intro and just want it to be done with and forget it exists (specially people who already played through it many times), so they don't want to make mods for it. And yet another reason might be because that segment is a "mess" behind the scenes (I am not sure if that particular one is a mess, but the ones before it are "messy" and very prone to crash and break if people use mods), so most people might not want to touch it even with a 10ft pole. cheeky

 I don't like it a lot neither, but I think that other possibilities don't match well with the main quests and the references to Vault 101, or a quest like or Trouble on the Homefront.


 I began the game I just started by killing all guards. Not terrible, but that was "self defence" (even the stealth kills, don't we say that best defence is attack ?).

 You could make it a personal challenge to see how far in the game you can advance with as few kills as possible. My guess is at some point you say f*ck it and start killing everything- as was intended in a game that is constantly trying to kill you and has hundreds of weapons.
