essential merchants and followers mod request

Post by starscreamM14 » Fri Jun 26, 2015 11:26 pm

i love playing ttw. but i have a problem.

the travelling merchants tend to get themselves killed (lucky harith for example)

and i wanted to request someone to either convert a mod for ttw so all the traveling merchants (and their guards and pack brahmin/animals) and companions are made essential. the ones from fallout AND new vegas. i prefer to have the followers set to essential too. i play on hardcore mode and i have trouble keeping myself alive sometimes let alone my followers. i have found a mod that does exactly what i want and if someone could convert that (and add the new vegas merchants and followers to it) for use with ttw i would greatly appreciate it. (or make a new one, wichever you prefer) i hope this isnt asking too much. i also hope im not getting booted of this website for asking this. i dont know if im asking this in the right place, if im not, i apologize.

edit: it would also be handy if the mod would respawn the merchants that have been killed already.

p.s. this is the mod i talked about:    http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/867/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Ffallout3%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D867%26preview%3D&pUp=1

you're in the right place, and there's been dumber requests.

just keep in mind that just because you request something doesn't mean someone wants to make it.

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.

IIRC. When you open the GECK

Post by paragonskeep » Sat Jun 27, 2015 2:24 am

IIRC. When you open the GECK it's just a matter of finding said NPC and flipping on the essential flag. So you'd load TTW up as the "active" and make sure your have the allowmultiplemasters=1 in the GECK ini settings.

If life is but a test, where's the damn answer key?!?!?

It's easy to do in FNVEdit,

Post by Trm8r » Sat Jun 27, 2015 2:23 pm

It's easy to do in FNVEdit, the only difficult part is finding them in the editor. I'll walk you through it.

Start FNVEdit, go ahead and use all of your load order, doesn't matter.

Expand Fallout3.esm.

Expand Non-Player Character.

The traders are grouped together, in my load order DocHoff = 0A063BF7.

Left click on Hoff, crtl click on the others, they will be highlighted, right click on one of them and "copy as override into...". Scroll down and select "new file", then give it a name.

The caravan guards start with 0A069C43, copy them into the file you already made.

Expand the "creatures" in Fallout 3.esm, Wolfgang's brahmin = 00027DE5, copy them into your file.

Now is a good time to save, press crtl-s and your file should be the only one selected.

Down at the bottom of the left hand window will be your new mod. Expand it and make your edits.

As the new mod as at the bottom of the load order it will be shown on the far right of FNVEdit.

The essential flag will be under "ACBS-Configuration", under that, "Flags".

So in your new mod, right click on the "Flags" line, select edit and check the "Essential" box.

Hope this helps.

then where is that mod ?

Post by starscreamM14 » Sat Jun 27, 2015 3:49 pm

then where is that mod ? could you link to it ?and i would also like to add that whilst all of the above is helpful, it still didnt solve my problem. i am probably not going to do that fnv edit and geck buiseness. programs like that give me a headache. for others it might be the simplest thing in the word and some of those people might think im stupid or something. but programs like that just arent my thing. so sorry, but my problems arent solved by the above and they arent going to be solved with any step by step list. (no matter how well it was written)

and also thanks for any past and future replies

i did look. honest!!!!!!!! i must have messed up or something. anyway, thanks for pointing these two mods out to me. you are very helpfull. even though this website looks a bit (how can i say this without insulting the creators) underground and/or low budget, the community is the best of any website i have ever been apart of. i am truly happy to be apart of it. everyone is so good willed and helpfull. and i thank you for it. there are exceptions to every rule, even here. but on other forums and websites the unhelpfull people will critisize everything you do. im sure im not the only one who encountered this. but on this site, at least they offer constructive criticism and arent rude and/or *ssholes (pardon my french).
