Mod Idea for between stations/worlds

Post by DiddyChee » Fri Oct 03, 2014 8:07 am

Now this is from a brainstorming session, anything that is said should be taken with a grain of salt. I don't plan on anyone making this nor anyone to, it is more for me to get these ideas out of my head. Note that this will have a few or a lot of grammar mistakes, but I do hope to maybe inspire a mod or two.

The mod takes place right after the events of the entire Fallout 3 game, DLC and all. The Lone Wanderer finds themselves on a train to nowhere, when suddenly the train grinds to a halt at a station. Curious the Lone Wanderer decides to look around the station. Finding nothing the Lone Wanderer decides to head back, only to be knocked out cold by a toxic gas.

Waking up the Lone Wanderer seems to be in the wild west, but seeing similarities between it and anchorage figures out it's a simulation. Out of nowhere a team of vault scientists explain to the Lone Wanderer that they want to have a little fun. (The scientists are named after who worked on TTW.)

The tests themselves are foreshadowing Nv and all it's DLC. With slight similarities but not outright copying it. The tests are as followed:

  • You find yourself in the Wild West. Paulson traveling the wastes managed to get in the same rut as you. It's a recreation of everything he had before; the food, the lifestyle, the people. Only one thing is missing: his family. A group of Indians (looks like a tribe from HH) decide to attack the town. Either join Paulson with dual .44's in tow or join the Indians. The reward is either Paulson as a companion to join you in NV or a perk that makes you deal more damage to the NCR

  • You and four friends (or at least you think they are friends) decide to rob a bank. Armed with .45 smgs and suits you decide to hit the town. This is to foreshadow parts of the events of Dead Money. It also works a lot like anchorage's team planing, where you have to decide the best way to get in; sneak or guns-a-blazing. The reward gives you an item pack similar or exactly like the ones from the pre-order packs.

  • Last is set in the 1940s in Rockwell. You and a group of townsfolk have to fight off an invasion of Aliens. The government won't help what so ever, either due to programing or they don't want to be involved. It's up to you and pre-war dressed folk ,armed to the teeth in weapons made by the local geek (the geek said this would happen), take on the 10 waves of monsters. This is the largest out of the three, the reward is a perk that all pre-war clothing increases speech and gun. You also learn how to create an alien shield that goes over your body with 20DR, plus any custom weapons from watching the geek make them.

In the end the scientists learn how remarkable you are; letting you and and Paulson as a gift go. You have a choice to walk away or kill them on site, won't be easy though. As you leave you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, luckily you find someone who calls themselves a 'courier' interested you follow him. He talks of a company called the Mojave Express. Wondering what more good/bad you can do you decide to help out. He talks of a delivery to someplace called hopeville. Then NV begins years later.

So, what do ya'll think? Too improvable? Too simple? Too silly/ never would happen? I know this mod might never see the light of day, but anyone have anything to add to it?

the team is actually working

the team is actually working on TTW specific stuffs to go in the initial train ride.  more than likely, that will be done with other mods hooking into that space in mind.  so keep the idea fresh and see what you can do with it

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.
