Lonesome Road Riot Armor in DC?

Post by BackyardStalker » Wed Apr 23, 2014 12:02 am

Hey guys, I've been trying to make a mod, but have failed as the items won't appear in vendor inventories. What I want to request is a mod that adds the Riot Gear armors from Lonesome Road into the DC Wasteland.

Some of you may think this is lore breaking, but let me explain my case. The NCR Veteran Ranger Armor is really just pre war riot police armor. Also, the Lonesome Road Variants lack the cowboy accents, and thus would be more lore friendly for, and more like to be found in the DC Wasteland.

I was thinking the armor could be sold by some merchants, found in some hidden locations, and even be used by the Regulators (they're basically the Desert Rangers of DC).

Let me know if anyone is interested in making this reality and/or what you think.

I wouldn't place them in

I wouldn't place them in vendor lists, but one or two sets hidden throughout the DC wasteland would be cool. Or, even better, a retextured version.

I would only put the armours on higher leveled Regulators, much like TTW added Advanced Combat Armours MK I&II to higher leveled Talon Company Mercs. Regulators definately need an armour buff.

I think one in Megaton Armory

I think one in Megaton Armory would be fun, and maybe one in the Citidel?

Those are two good locations.

Those are two good locations. Was also thinking maybe a partial set (i.e. a helmet) in the presidential metro near the white house.

Not exactly what you're after, but may suit well enough.

This would be very a very nice idea. Retextured in a darker/black look and replace the helmet with the Fallout police hat. The ranger armor is afterall, modified riot gear, something that the DCPD would have as well.

Sorry if this is a necro, but

Sorry if this is a necro, but I thought it's worth pointing out for people who find this via search engine, that something like this already exists - but I'm not sure which mod added it. Possibly TTW Interiors. Anyway, somewhere downtown (I won't spoil it) I found a set of riot gear with a big "DCPD" on the back. It's cool as heck, and great armor, and it's awesome to roll around the Mojave rocking my DCPD armor.

It is from the most excellent TTW Interiors mod by Chucksteel; I do recall picking up two very nice light armors named 'Riot Armor' from DCPD Police Headquarters upstairs in the Armory (locked up tight with a very hard terminal - Requires an effective science skill of 100 to get these, there is no lockpick option). Although technically these are not 'riot' armor really, based on their stats and looks these are something the cops would more likely have called 'DCPD SWAT Bodyarmor' - Complete with a high NIJ protection level advanced bullet-resistant vest with inserts/trauma-plates, police BDUs and combat boots.. In other words, this is a lot closer to the Sierra Madre Reinforced Security armor (Light armor) in functionality than Lonesome Road Riot Gear (Medium armor).

Yeah, this is my favorite light armor set from the Capital Wasteland as well - Works real well with the Light Touch and Travel Light perks, I don't need no powerarmor to survive scavving in DC downtown. For the full SWAT style look, I combined this outfit with the Vault 101 Security Helmet and a Marksmanship Carbine.

Big city SWAT team would have dozens of armors like these (at least one for every SWAT team member); However, the reason why only two are found in the DCPD Police HQ Armory, is propably because most of them walked out the doors back in 2077 when the DCPD SWAT team did it's best to respond to the emergency that was the Great War. The advanced electric lock must have kept the armory sealed for over two hundred years after the war.
