Hello everyone!   I just recently started to play ttw seriously, and I have to say that I am super excited with where the mod takes the game.   Anyway, as I was playing I came across a fun scenario. I always play with ST's perks and traits, and was currently playing a cannibalistic, half-insect human. In actuality I was simply using a perk called 'Hive Mind'. It is just animal friend, but for mutated insects. Eventually SmileyTop designed it so you can recruit mutated insects for your companions. Cool! (I have ants on the brain irl, so...)


I stumble across the quest Those!, and boy did I have some fun roleplaying there! Next thing I know I was killing all the humans, and protecting the ants. It was a complete reversal of how I normally handle the quest. The ants are my friends, the fire makes them strong, and they will keep me safe. I had this huge urge to build a lair inside the ant hill for my character, for him to trade with the ant queen, protect the hive and allow the fire ants to spread across the world.   It is exactly what I would do if I where t character. The ants are only evil, because they look evil. They are just trying to survive, and they understand me. Better than any human does at least.


So then my brain traveled to the idea of keeping the scientist alive, but imprisoning him. Using my humanity to force him to continue enhancing the ants, deathclaws beware! Soon my army of mutagenic ants would rise up, conquering all of the... *cough*  


But I can't mod worth a hill of beans :(   Heres what I envision, kinda a twist on Wasteland defense really:   A hive always starts with the Queen's chamber (just reuse the marigold one at first) It is upgradeable with new chambers provide new ant types and so on...-




  • workers chamber


  • soldiers chamber


  • warriors chamber


  • guardians chamber  


  • A research chamber is built to provide the necessary tools for your 'recruited' scientists. They provide upgrades to the ant types   Faster workers, more food and resources generated. Tougher soldiers, more DT for the fighting ants,  etc.


I have more ideas, but this is just to see if there are modders interested in the project.   As a sidenote: Are there any roleplay'esque mods for ttw? I find that ttw does a fantastic job, but fallout 3 has always lacked in true roleplay. I hated the magician's choice feel of the gameplay, and I still do.

Please tell me you're wearing the Ant-Agonizer's armor :D


 


I don't know if it'll work with a simple conversion but you could try to convert Wasteland Whisperer for f3
