a bunch of people in public chat the other night realized that no matter how good medicine is in the post-apoc fallout universe, not everyone has access to it. but people are incredibly hardy creatures, so losing limbs isn't actually life-threatening if first aid can be applied -- compression, cauterizing, tourniquets, etc. so where are all the peg-legged people with hook hands in the wastes?
since i do not recall everyone in chat at the time, i'll refrain from mentioning names and idea contribution here, but i figured putting up a thread so that this awesome idea isn't lost. (well, it might be lost, but now it'd be a lot harder to do so)

It would be neat, however
It would be neat, however reloading with a hook hand would be a pain in the ass. Perhaps that could be a trait, where if you chose it, you get a hook hand and your hth damage goes far up, but you are limited to hth, one hand melee weapons and recharger pistols.

IT WAS MEEEE!
IT WAS MEEEE!
I started it by saying I want amputees and prosthetic cyborg limbs in Fallout 4
then all of you awesomely creative people start giving suggestions about less high-tech versions and I thought "holy soggy bread! now that would really be awesome!"
Imagine a person with a baseball bat as a leg, fake legs/arms with a firearm hidden it them, cyborg limbs (I always wanted to play a cyborg in fallout), using a fake limb as a club (imagine how awesome would be to have a fake leg with metal spikes around it to be used as a weapon), rocket and atom powered wheelchairs with guns in them
the possibilities are endless.
Although I must also say here, I hope this topic doesn't offend anyone, I do not think being an amputee is a joke or funny in any way, and that goes to any other disability too. As a matter of fact I actually admire people like that, they manage to live their lives dealing with the hardships of their disability EVERY single second of their lives, in my book these people are a step up in the human scale

Not to go out on a limb, here
Not to go out on a limb, here but you could imagine the added workload of having to create armor and clothing for different versions of amputee player models were they to have been included in the vanilla game. It would have been crippling.
That being said, the easiest, most effective way to do this would be to create special clothing that includes whichever prosthetic as a feature of wearing the clothing itself, i.e. as part of the clothing model. It would likely have to be un-lootable or hilarious results would follow.
I have half a mind to try a hand at some designs, modifying vanilla clothing to start.

There are two absolutely
There are two absolutely diferent cyber hands on nexus in two diferent mods. Both of them in awesom quality. I got both in my version of FOOK TTW:) +tons of other cyber parts, but unfortunately mostly its diferent versions of cyber eyes... I destrebuted them in fook properly:) dont worry there are planty of npcs who can afford it, so it stays lore friendly:) (General Chase, General Oliver, Big Sal, Ranger Grant, etc... there are away a lot more wealthy ppl... Doctor Zimmer, his android bodyguard, tenpenny, even dukov can have it:) it wont break any lore:)
But if someone gonna find or make a baseball bat limb... PLEASE PM ME!!!!!!! I deadly need one for my mod!!!!

For some sort of hook hand
For some sort of hook hand you wouldn't need to change anything but the armor add on, assuming you have made a decent model to replace 1 of the hands and I would make it up the wrist a little to hide the seam. That would be by far the least amount of work than anything else and easy to implement. I think a Chubbs Peterson poorly made wooden hand would be the best option here imo, lol.
