Having wandered around most of the Capital Wasteland looking for doctors bags (or components of), I'm starting to come to the conclusion that maybe there needs to be more of them ingame. Maybe I'm just getting unlucky with my spawns, but I'm also a little bit tired of limping around the place, and fast travel is a massive immersion breaker in my mind.
More doctors bags?

I agree. I love HC mode.
I agree. I love HC mode. Makes it really hard when you can't move, shoot, etc.

It's not that I don't like the added difficulty, but at a certain point it stops being "Doctors Bags are super rare to make the game difficult" and "Maybe there aren't any in DC at all". I've no problem shooting for the first for, but the second one breaks immersion.

IIRC there a few only, you can find them around medical facilities and labs. Those are the only places I know where there are actually placed on the game world.
I can't remember if they are sold by doctors or not.

Yeah chuck modeled after New Vegas when placing new items in FO3, so I can assure you that there is a similar amount of Doctors Bags in DC as there are in NV, you CAN buy them from doctors and the materials to make them aren't especially rare. I agree doctor's bags are hard to find, but they were in NV as well.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that if you get one of the FO3 vanilla player houses then you can also buy and use the "My first Infirmary" to get fully healed, free of rads and heal all limbs too.

Alright, I guess I must just be unlucky/not looking hard enough :P As I said, I was traipsing around the wasteland, and I'm not the kind to fast travel back to megaton to be healed - I limp home, or I don't make it back at all :P I guess I'm noticing it more because the other options for healing limbs are hard/impossible to make in DC (the HH recipe daturna and healing poultice)

Perhaps another method is
Perhaps another method is needed, something that uses local ingredients. The glowing mushroom plant was added by TTW to give DC a unique harvestable, perhaps that could be used to jury rig some sort of limb healing medicine. Ideas? The glowing mushroom is HIGHLY radioactive, so that would make a great balancing factor.
