I use NMC's texture pack in New Vegas and want to use the Fo3 version so traveling between the wastelands doesn't cause a large graphical change that completely breaks immersion. However I am unsure if the mod needs to be patched in any way first. Can anyone advise me on this ?

It has no .esp file so just
It has no .esp file so just install it like normal and it will work fine. Although you should install NMC's for FO3 before the New Vegas pack so that NMC's NV overwrites it.

Please search the forums
Please search the forums before asking questions. This has already been answered, both in previous forums, and in the official FAQ. There's even a well made guide on how to make them into a BSA with an ESP so you can activate/deactivate them quickly and easily with a mod manager. ;)

how could i use ESP's and BSA
how could i use ESP's and BSA's to make two separate wastelands. once you override nmc FO3 (which has a more greyish tint) with FNV, then you get that redish color. but is there a way to keep the texture packs separate so DC maintains the grey desolate feel and FNV has the red tint?
