@pintocat: Maybe you'd be willing/wanting to tackle this yourself since you are the original author?


I'd really like to see this converted. I love roleplaying that the Lone Wanderer feels that they needs to take in this orphan and raise Bryan as their own to make up for his/her daddy issues


I'm shit at modding so I won't even try. I don't know if this would be as simple running it through the conversion scripts; it seems like it may be too complicated script-wise but I don't know.

I started on it, and have been unable to get the companion wheel to work. It shows, but selecting anything with it doesn't take. I will probably try again at some point but I have no idea what I was doing wrong.

The companion wheel asks as though you selected a specific topic in conversation. For example if you select the trade button it plays FollowerTrade for Wilks and that topic is what does all the work. The wheel is basically a forwarder to dialogue. A pretty good way to see all of the topics is to open dialog for vNPCFollowers.

Do I have to have the topic in the vNPCFollowers quest? I looked at the vanilla companions, but I don't want to edit the vanilla quest... possibly what I was doing wrong was, I think I just found out that I can have a topic from one quest, in another quest? Is that right, and the way to do it? Copy the FollowerHired topic into my quest, and add my own response to it?

Yeah, topics are not tied to quests, so as along as Bryan Wilks has a response for the various Follower topics, the wheel should work fine.

Yes, I know his dialogue is a mess... it was kind of before I had a good grasp of how dialogue quests worked. 


I looked at MK a bit, but I don't remember looting stuff
