[REQ]Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword

Post by paragonskeep » Wed Sep 16, 2015 3:33 am

I was curious (and may be a very dumb idea) about a mod that would make the game progressively harder based on your own aggression. Let's say that the base damage a NPC deals out is 25%, if you play passively (stealth based, no first strike kills) the damage progresses as normal per level. But if you play "shoot first" style the NPC's damage would increase as a direct rate of damage dealt by you. Basically you can play "shoot first" but as you do the NPC's can kill you easier due to an increase of their damage multiplier in addition to the increases per level. This would be tracked per the "stats" counter in the pip-boy so that the humans, and creatures would be able to each get tougher or just one or the other. Would make you second guess taking out the Deathclaws at Old Olney if the ones in the Mojave hit harder due to that choice.

I know of this mod http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/41177/?

but that is a static rate and I was looking for something more fluid and reactive to the PC's aggression. I hope that all makes some sense.

1) Is this something that the current NVSE (with plugins) can do?

2) Could someone script this? (and would)

3) How bad does this idea suck?

If life is but a test, where's the damn answer key?!?!?

1)  probably.

1)  probably.

2) maybe.  the big issue is figuring out how to measure your aggro so you can scale things.  which would mean capturing actions in combat to measure and all that.  i'm under the impression that grib could script my fridge into being an oven though, so i'm sure someone /could/ do it.  as far as /would/?  no idea.

3)  in the day and age of pony mods and porn parodies of porn mods, you're going to have to be more specific on what you mean by "how bad does this suck"

perms:  either a full fireworks display spelling out "Puppettron Made This" anytime a user accesses my content in-game, or just give me credit somewhere.
