Custom crafted weapon request

Hi All,


This is a request that I would love to see made but absolutely suck at modding. So the idea is a craftable weapon that uses schematics and would require the Crutch/leaf blower/steam assembly/conductor/fission battery.


Would look similar to the Railway rifle if you added the leaf blower as a hopper to it. It's a Flak Cannon. You load it similar to the rock it launcher with frag mines or grenades. They explode in the chamber shooting the "flak" forward like a hyper powered shotgun. Damage same as a frag grenade, range short, sound loud.


Also if we could add a sensor module to use this as a trap would be awesome.


I appreciate it guys. Hopefully it's a good enough of an idea and worth doing.

I don't think its a nice thing to do to the script engine to make the game treat frags as ammo, and even if you did, they weigh .5 (iirc) so it's not like you can really stockpile them for usage.


While there are many talented modders who frequent this forum (bless their souls) this is a /very/ generic request (make gun pl0x) and would probably be better made at the nexus forums for more visibility.


As for the grenade exploding in the chamber, exactly how thick is the barrel? There is only so many times a grenade can explode in an aluminium casing before it shreds.


Side note: The auto correct thinks it should be "aluminum". No. Just no.

With the script engine it would probably require a custom version of the mines/grenades then I assume, otherwise you would only be able to use them as they are or as ammo?


Weapon degrading would be very high, approx. 10 shots from full repair to busted, except when busted and you pulled the trigger it would still "fire" but you would take the damage.


The basic idea is a wide range "homemade" weapon for crowds. I run MMM mainly and you always have that group of ferals, raiders, etc to contend with and thought it would be cool to use a weapon that wasn't a flammer or lobbing a grenade (that never seems to work effectively).


Also I've been wanting to go through the entire game (certain DLC's exceptions) with only the craftable weapons, but in my opinion the craftables were lacking a sniper variant (which I believe there is now one on the Nexus) and a large crowd control (other than Nuka grenades which are fairly rare). And I'm an Unreal tournament Geek and love the flak cannon and Ripper.


I've posted this request via the Nexus and Bethesda forums in the past with some interest but ultimately it was never made, so I thought WTH I'll post one last time.


"Aluminum" you mean that's not your first choice for weapon material??? wink Just think of the weight you'd save.

I like this idea, I'm always had a soft spot for the homemade weapons. I like the ability to create the model though.
