Missing Assets/Meshs/Red Exclamation Points

Post by Zuriki » Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:38 am

I was having a look for anyone else who had this issue but I haven't been able to find any solution that worked for me.

Here is a some example images of what's going on: https://imgur.com/a/m4lixoq
TWW Install Log: https://pastebin.com/raw/VddZ2Jgx
DXDiag: https://pastebin.com/raw/pC4NSg6k

Here is the LO:

FalloutNV.esm
DeadMoney.esm
HonestHearts.esm
OldWorldBlues.esm
LonesomeRoad.esm
GunRunnersArsenal.esm
ClassicPack.esm
MercenaryPack.esm
TribalPack.esm
CaravanPack.esm
Fallout3.esm
Anchorage.esm
ThePitt.esm
BrokenSteel.esm
PointLookout.esm
Zeta.esm
taleoftwowastelands.esm
TTWFixes.esm
TTW_StartupMenu.esp
TTWVaultSuitHotfix.esp

Total active plugins: 20
Total plugins: 20

I have also tried without the TTWFixes/TTWHotpatch.

Both FO3 and FNV are clean installs from Steam, English standard version. Installation steps as follows:

1. Download base games from Steam
2. Start FO3 and FNV for initial game start
3. NVSE installed
4. Run TTW installer
5. Copy FOMODs into FOMM/mods folder, install using Package Manager
6. Archive Invalidation set
7. FNV LAA patch installed
8. Start NVSE and cry
9. Install TWW Hotfix and retry and cry
10. Install TWW Unofficial Patch 2.2.2 and retry and cry

So, I give up, what am I missing?

Don't use unofficial patch for one thing.

Did you enable archive invalidation?

As stated I tried both with and without patches (official and unofficial) and yes, archive invalidation has been set (again, already stated in the original post).

All of the unchecked mods

All of the unchecked mods that are shown in your FOMM package manager, move them out of FOMM so that they don't show up at all. The engine may still be loading them into your build causing issues.
So basically make sure your DATA folder only has mods in it that you are running, see if that helps. ( I know sounds weird since they're not "checked")
If life is but a test, where's the damn answer key?!?!?

Laptops can have a myriad of issues with games because of the video cards having issues with each other. There is no reason I can see for your problems to be happening. So it's probably a driver issue.

Also on a laptop, another issue I've encountered is the main GPU not initialising. That's because of the config of both GPUs, and is solved by altering them so it will force switch when using certain programs.

I only know how to do it

I only know how to do it using NVIDIA GPUs. You go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and it should open showing the tab for "Global Settings". You need to change tab to the "Program Settings" and it should have several options, choose the game from the drop down list "1. Select a program to customize:" (or Add it using the "Add" button).

Then you go to point "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" and pick the NVIDIA one from the drop down list. Click "Apply" and it should be fine after that. Then just exit the NVIDIA Control Panel.
