I downloaded TTW nearly a week ago. Never played it before, but figured it would be a good idea now that I actually have the DLC needed for New Vegas and Fallout 3. (Steam version for both, FO3 is GOTY version) Used Fallout Mod Manager, followed all of the directions, and after two days of fiddling with everything, got it running with all of the mods that I was wanting to use. (I played both games without DLC and with no mods. Now I want to play a fully-modded game)
Real life issues kicked in before I got to actually play, and I was away from my computer for a couple days. During that time, there was a bit of a power hiccup during the night, and now my computer isn't running quite right. I need to take it in to get it fixed, having spent all day today trying to fix it myself. Even tried a System Restore to fix my issues, to no avail. Finally figured that I might as well try TTW tonight, since my computer problems are all ones that shouldn't affect the game (other than audio, but I'll deal with it.)
Turns out that even though System Restore said that my files wouldn't be affected, I had to re-download Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. However, all of my mods and everything are still on my computer. I'm a bit wary on how I should go about re-modding my game.
First question: Do I need to run the TTW installer again? I still have the resultant files from running the installer the first time. Can I just clear out my "mods" folder for FOMM and place the TTW files back in there? Once the TTW files are made, is it still necessary to have vanilla FO3 laying around, or are the TTW files all that are needed?
Second question: When I used FOMM, I placed the .7z folders in the mod folder, and when I selected them in "Add FOMOD", it created FOMOD files in the same folder. For my own sanity trying to pick through that folder, can I delete the .7z folders now? I have all of them backed up in a different folder from when I downloaded them.
I'm sorry if these are stupid questions. I'm just incredibly frustrated from trying to fix my PC, and seeing my Fallout games vanish after two days of setting things up, before I even got the chance to play TTW beyond testing if it would even start after a couple complicated mods (primarily the Shojo Race mod, since it requires bits and pieces from other mods for both FO3 and NV to get working) was sort of the breaking point. It's really late where I live, so I was hoping that I could just ask and get an answer before I start working on fixing my game, and go to bed tonight to calm down.
