Need urgent help with my game crashing!

Post by graham436 » Fri Feb 23, 2018 8:45 am

Hi there, so I've been trying to play Tale of Two Wastelands for the past week now and when I play it the game launches fine, it's play fine for about 10-15 minutes (maybe less) then will just randomly crash. I can be just running around, shooting someone, going through a loading screen or simply anything. I have tried to troubleshoot the problem myself by doing the .ini Fallout tweaks but these also seem to have not worked. What also makes it weird is how I literally have no other mods downloaded other than the main .esm files and the ttw_fixes mod. I have played quite a lot of TTW in the past simply by just dealing with these crashes (re-opening the game when it does) but it's just getting way to frequent and killing the enjoyment of such an amazing mod. Below is my load order:

FalloutNV.esm

DeadMoney.esm

HonestHearts.esm

OldWorldBlues.esm

LonesomeRoad.esm

GunRunnersArsenal.esm

CaravanPack.esm

ClassicPack.esm

MercenaryPack.esm

TribalPack.esm

Fallout3.esm

Anchorage.esm

ThePitt.esm

BrokenSteel.esm

PointLookout.esm

Zeta.esm

TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm

TTWFixes.esm

TTW_StartupMenu.esp

The Mod Configuration Menu.esp

Total active plugins: 21

Total plugins: 21

Not to mention that I also have NVAC downloaded and NVSR. Anyone else know how to fix this problem? May I also add that when I uninstalled TTW and simply played New Vegas on its own it didn't crash AS much but it still did after about 30 minutes of gameplay. Any help would be of much appreciation.

If you're using Windows 10, remove NVSR (Windows Falls Creators Update broke NVSR).

If you don't want to remove it, make sure: bHookCriticalSections and bHookLightCriticalSections are both set to 0.

If you haven't installed NVAC

If you haven't installed NVAC, try installing it and when the game crashes check the log and see if there's anything that might be useful. Even if it prevents a crash, you might want to check the log after a time, and see how many 'hits' your getting. I recommend it as a 'notice of potential' problems, rather than a 'how long can you keep me chugging before my game goes boom' kinda thing.

I deleted NVSR and used the 4GB Patcher again on my game and I've been playing for an hour straight and there has been no crashes. I'll be it rather stuttery but doesn't crash at any point. The help was much appreciated.
