Post by jlf65 » Sun Sep 04, 2016 3:19 am

Are dealers in DC supposed to sell .50 caliber ammo? None of them ever do. I'm being very stingy with my .50 cal ammo because I have yet to find any more than what I provided with the Barret in the first place. It shouldn't be a CaliberX issue because it's vanilla ammo. I have no trouble finding it in NV (affording it? yes, but not finding it), but yet to see any in DC.

You'd have to add it to the lists yourself.

So some vanilla NV weapons and ammo don't naturally occur in DC? Okay, thanks. Seems that might make a mod some folks would be interested in.

I'm pretty sure he did alter the with ammo lists on the guns so it sounds like merge patch issue to me. If this is not the case I'll have to just make new patches for everything and do it myself if it's going to be done.

The patches in FNVedit have no leveled lists listed. I just assumed it was done by script? Attached will be a screencap of the patch in fnvedit. The merge patch I have right now doesn't edit any of the with ammo lists

I went through a bunch of the ammo and weapon lists... most of them are used in VendorCaravan lists, so the only weapon/ammo source is Lucky Harith. He has a low chance of having the higher end weapons and ammo that gets higher as you upgrade his caravan. The normal vendors used to have all the ammo and weapons in various amounts, but that was all tossed for a set of tier lists. Unfortunately, the highest tier doesn't have the high-end NV ammo or weapons. In my own install, I added the ammo and weapons to Flak & Shrapnel's vendor chest.

It looks like they were trying to make lower end stuff appear at low levels, and higher end stuff at higher levels (above 20). However, their high end was only what was in FO3. The regular ammo and weapon lists were edited by NV to contain all the new weapons and ammo, so by ignoring the regular lists to make new leveled lists, TTW actually ignores much of the NV stuff by accident.

CaliberX itself adds things

Post by RoyBatty » Mon Sep 05, 2016 5:46 am

CaliberX itself adds things to all the leveled lists for Ammo, they were always tiered in both games.

If ammo doesn't spawn with, or incorrect ammo with the WEAPONS then the WithAmmo (the list all have WithAmmo in the name) lists for those WEAPONS are incorrect.

Fallout 3 doesn't and did not ever use some of the lists that NV does, so they are limited. The only reason anything from NV spawns on those vendors is because TTW added those items to those lists. Adding things to their chests is not the correct way to add things, you should add them to the lists instead.

Someone needs to make a WotNM patch for TTW and CaliberX specifically to have full integration. That person is not me, however I expect that darthbdaman will probably make such a patch if he hasn't already.

I added LISTS with the ammo

Post by jlf65 » Mon Sep 05, 2016 4:37 pm

I added LISTS with the ammo/weapons to the chest, not the ammo/weapons. And some of the Fallout 3 lists (present in the esm) were used for vendors but changed in the ttw esm. You can see it in FNVEdit - just click on the vendor chest, for example, and you see the lists used by Fallout3.esm in one column and the new lists used by ttw.esm in the next. Then go check the old list and find all the ammo/weapons you want, then click on the new list and they're no longer there.
