Just checked my settings, and it's not anniversary. It's Windows 10 Home.

In settings what's the version of your Windows 10 Home. If it's the anniversary then it will say 1607 as the version. If it doesn't then you do not have the anniversary update yet. And by yet means that probably the next time you do a windows update then it possibly will get installed.

Now a lot of people hate Windows 10. Personally I'm not one of them. I've not had any problems with W10 myself. But to each their own.

Also, I actually really like Windows 10. Mostly for the virtual desktops though ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

We've had any number of people have issues with intel graphics, the drivers don't support directx9 very well. It's not TTW itself, it's Vegas that won't run.

My old laptop (my secondary

Post by Decker » Wed Aug 10, 2016 11:46 pm

My old laptop (my secondary computer system, Asus X71A laptop, year 2008 model) has Intel GMA 4500HD integrated graphics, and using Windows XP Pro 32bit it was just barely able to 'run' vanilla Fallout New Vegas at minimal levels of detail (Framerates were quite horrible, way below 20 fps with an occasional slideshow hiccup every now and then). Interestingly, the GMA 4500HD chipset was completely unable to run older Fallout 3 or Oblivion, which use a different older shader model for heads not supported by the chipset (I could run the main menu, but could never start a game without crashing with F3 and Oblivion).. I heard rumors that somebody had a hack where heads were disabled in Fallout 3, but IMHO it would be way too creepy to play with everyone walking around with no heads..  ;)

It is propable that the integrated intel chipsets are continuing their tradition for not supporting vital random bits and pieces like all of the earlier shader models. Also, I would in addition suspect that Win 10 does not yet properly support laptop specific internal hardware like integrated graphics chipsets. Using Win 7 or XP (32 bit version works better if the laptop has like only 2 gigs of ram) you might be able to actually launch and run vanilla Fallout New Vegas on an integrated intel graphics, but it would still suck because of the terrible performance in the way of low fps. FNV game cleanup mods like POTG only help a little bit in the fight versus low fps, and may be incompatible with other mods.. In any case, I doubt an integrated graphics setup would work well or even at all with TTW, which is basically like two games loaded up at once, considerably more demanding than vanilla FNV.

Most practical/functional results for playing videogames are achieved by using a discrete GPU. With an integrated chipset you may be restricted to good old isometric games like Fallout 2 at most; IME the best three dimensional videogame the Intel GMA 4500HD chipset could run well was Freelancer with the TNG mod (very smooth fps, good visuals for an ancient 2001 era game). Freelancer might be a good choice, if you are looking for a decent videogame that intel integrated graphics can run without problems, best enjoyed with mods though.
