FOMM doesn't want to work for me

FOMM doesn't want to work for me

Specs: i7 4950, 750ti 2GB vid card, 16GB ram, Windows 10 free edition, everything up to date, the steam GotY version of FO3 and the ultimate edition of NV.


For mod management, I primarily use NMM but I'm trying to use FOMM to get TTW to work. I'm using the latest version of FOMM v0.14.11.12 . I've also tried the recommended version of FOMM in the install guide, but they both crash before I can even install the Fomod.


So I've been playing New Vegas for the past month or two fooling around with addons in NMM. After a lot of work, the game is stable and runs almost perfectly. I'm itching to play FO3 (which I haven't played since 2008 on the Xbox) in the NV engine so I'm trying to finally get TTW installed and stable. NMM got really mad at me when I tried to install the giant 5GB Fomod that the installer generated so I took the advice of the install guide and installed the latest FOMM. However, this is also crashing for me everytime before I can even attempt to install the TTW Fomod. I have a quadrillion mods installed so is it even worth it to try and get TTW to work with a huge amount of mods? 


Here's the error I'm getting that makes FOMM crash: Its doing this no matter what version of FOMM i've tried, btw.

If you can't install using FOMM then the fastest way is to install manually.

After you install TTW you might want to take a look at the Load Order General Guide thread:

You will also need to replace some of the mods you're using just for FNV, here is a very short list of some I detected quickly while skimming over you LO:




  • You will need to replace YUP with TTWFixes


  • You will need to replace NVInteriors with TTWInteriors


  • You will need to get rid of Alternate Start since alternate start mods do not work with TTW


  • Zan's Auto Purger doesn't really do anything, for an alternative check the TTW Performance Guide thread (I will link it below)


  • You might want to get the TTW version or patches for Project Nevada and EVE

A very important tip, when you install TTW you should not play with any mod that is not required to run at the start (for example you should have installed and active the TTWFixes while DarnUI is not required to be installed at the beginning of a new game but it can too since that one causes no problems) of a new game because Vault 101 is very picky and prone to break, once you leave the Vault and get out of the cave into the wasteland you can then install all the mods you want to play with.
