d3d9 wrappers causing memory leaks

Post by Cinmer » Sat Feb 20, 2016 6:19 pm

As of recently, most d3d9 wrapper mods for F:NV (ENB, SweetFX) as well as other games (Dark Souls PTDE PvP Watchdog & SweetFX) have been causing memory leaks on my PC. For the longest time these mods would work fine on my system until about a week ago when Windows decided to secretly force install some updates to my PC that I realized that any DirectX9 wrapper would begin eating away at my available memory as well as creating intense loading times & lag in both games.

In my attempts at fixing this problem I took the liberty of dusting my PC from the inside (motherboard, PSU and CPU fan); attempted to rollback my GeForce GTX 770's driver to a point just before the new year but never could fix the problem. And so here I am coming to the TTW community in hopes of finding a solution to my wretched ail.

Maybe try uninstalling all the windows updates that were installed since everything was working fine.

I did just that. Uninstalled the one Windows Security Update that was installed on the 10th of February but it's persisting.
