CTD when saving near Megaton

Post by nightsyde » Mon Nov 23, 2015 10:40 am

I've seen a few threads here and elsewhere on the net about CTD problems, but most seem to be attributing it to failures in zoning. My issue seems to be with creating save files within a certain area. Zoning where the system does not try to autosave works fine. Zone transitions where an autosave is triggers fails (e.g. leaving Megaton or entering the Ranch House in Springvale)

System Specs: OS: Windows 8 64x

Proc: Intel i7-3632QM 2.2G

RAM: 8G

Mod Manager and Version

Nexus Mod Manager 0.61.1
LOOT 0.8.1

TTW Install log and Load Order attached.

Symptoms: CTD when trying to create save files in Wasteland around and north of Megaton. Able to fast travel to Super Duper Mart and save until the ruined house enroute to Megaton. Able to fast travel to Springvale and Vault 101 entrance, but CTD when try to quicksave or save via 'ESC' menu. CTD when leaving Megaton.

What you have already tried? Disabled all mods except those specifically needed for TTW- no effect. Started new game with only TTW Vanilla mods- no change. Fast traveled out of Megaton and did cursory map of area where saving resulted in CTD (North of Megaton, east of Patriotic Picnic Area, South of Big Town, west of Super Duper-Mart). Ability to save within this area has been sporatic, resulting alot of times in CTD.

Yes, I'm aware that the plethora of mods I have active, such as the FOSO series, may be contributing factors, but I have started new games with out any SO mods enabled without any noticeable effect.

Autosave is known buggy, use CASM.

Disabling mods can have no effect because the assets are still there. Uninstall them and test.

NXMM is not supported.

CASM did nothing but bog the game down to the point that I had to "Three Key" to get out of the game. What DID help, however, was the NV Anti-Crash mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635/?)
