What are codecs, what do they do, how do I find out if I have them or not and what is FFDshow?

Codecs are what decode video and audio, if you've installed one of the packs available on the net, they can interfere with how games function and break them.

I really don't want to get further in to this but...

Is it ONLY the CW side where the music was messed up?

Does this happen when you do Vanilla FNV?

Your load order implies/states that you're only using strictly vanilla files. Since it can't be a problem with TTW, or EVERYONE would be going for their pitchforks, we need to trim this down further to try to really isolate the cause(s).

Like I said in my previous post the cause for this can be several things like codecs, hardware, software and even OS settings.

If you tried one of the things I posted before and made the music work but messed up the rest then you should revert your changes back and try a different thing and hopefully it will work better.

This is a common issue for some people playing just FNV, the causes can be a lot of different things, so there is no universal fix, the solutions I posted before can help or do absolutely nothing unfortunately ...

I once helped some user here on a private chat by showing him/her those solutions, he/she said he got if fixed and thanked me and I never again saw that person around so I also do not know which of those stuff fixed it .

Hello Roy I am also having this very same problem I here three dog speak and then no music whatsoever. Is it a fix in the works for this issue? Or are there any relevant fixes for this.

I hope you can help me with getting this problem fixed.

You need to set your audio to 48khz in the audio control panel, it will not work with the default 96khz that windows is set to these days.

Hello Roy just thought you would like to know that i have fixed the issue and this fix was not mentioned on any thread. my OS is Windows10 Pro N edition and these builds dont have Media Player built in with them not like Standared windows 10 OSs do. so i installed the package for media player because i recently had VLC installed so i had to unistall that and once i went onto the Game with windows media player installed all music worked insantantly.

so to break it down my issue was fixed when i installed (Windows Media Player)
