Is there a special command to paste in the console?  I tried hitting ctrl+v, and all I got was being able to type v.  I did find out during this latest fail though that it was indeed keyboy that seemed to override how keys react in console.  Luckily though, it comes with a MCM config, and I was able to just turn everything off temporarily and type in my commands normally, and then turn everything back on without having to leave the game.

Rather than cut-n-paste, use

Rather than cut-n-paste, use a bat file. Put all the commands you wish to run for a task in a file, with a name that describes the task (name_of_task.txt). Copy that to the game root directory (not the data directory). Then in the console type "bat name_of_task" and it will execute all the commands in the text file. This is good for repetitive and/or long tasks where you'd have to remember lots of commands and IDs. This is how nearly every "mod" for Skyrim works that gives you all you need to build your house in Hearthfires.

So if you can't get "s" to work in the console, just don't use "s" in the name of the file and you're golden. Doesn't fix your problem, but it allows you to get around it.

Thanks again jlf65.  I rarely use bat files in that way, so I usually don't think of them when I need something in game.  Even though I managed to figure out what was causing my particular typing issues, I'll definitely keep the bat file method in mind for the future, probably when I want to spawn a set of items and I don't want to type everything out for each one.

They can also be handy for easy use of resource mods, where they don't add the item(s) into the world or vendor lists. Just add the player.additem list of what you want in the text file, then get it all at once with the bat command. You don't need to remember the item IDs, just the name of the file.

I'd probably more likely use something like that for FO4 for settlements.  Can't think of much where I would need so many items as once for TTW.
