Mothership Zeta crashes and missing sounds

I've played fairly smoothly for about a week now, including DLCs from F3 and FNV - but Mothership Zeta seems to crash very often. It almost always happens when I'm interacting with something, but it seems to happen more in certain areas, mostly the cargo hold. In addition, although it's minor and I don't mind it too much, some of the weapons like the Alien Disintigrator and Drone Cannon are missing reload sounds. Any ideas what might be causing these problems? I'll post my load order below.

I've never had much luck running Mothership Zeta with TTW, whether it be modless or a modded playthrough. I'm not sure where MZ stands with the current version of TTW, but maybe someone here has more luck. As far as load order goes, a few things are out of place, and just because a mod is deactivated doesn't mean it isn't affecting your game. If it's not being used, best to uninstall it all together. You also have some redundancies in the WMX .esp department.


As far as missing sounds go, could be mod related, but best to wait and see if someone has played through the dlc without any mods yet to confirm the issue.

We messed with it constantly, last time I played Zeta (a few versions ago) I used very few mods and it ran just fine. I know that Zeta is fickle and it seems like everyone has differing levels of success so I'm not sure if it's broken again or if it's just not working for you.

For what it's worth, I'm having similar issues, with a mostly unmodded TTW. Mine seem to be repeatably caused by the drones/drone cannons. There was a fix for an older version that involved unpacking animations from the .bsa, but it had varied amounts of success.


I just play the DLC with my finger on the quick-save button. I also die alot since I'm trying to beat it with my melee character.

That fix worked perfectly if done properly, and was tested by sesom. It's since been integrated into TTW. I'd need sesom to check the bsas and make sure the fix is still in place though.

Ok just a quick test and I crashed twice during the steamworks already, didn't even reached that far, came here to report this, will continue testing more and trying to pass the steamworks or pinpoint where the crashes happen more.

Ah, great then. I noticed they were unpacking alien animations, but i was unsure if the same fix would work or the drones. i just kept getting the "backwards" drone cannon glitch, but wasn't sure how to fix it other than reloading.

The game crashed 4 or 5 times while I was fist fighting Somah in the cell after a I loaded a save before I started fighting her (I had chosen the option of looking for a different way of escaping so I could save), I keep crashing randomly in the steamworks, always when fighting aliens I think.


I will have to test this some more again today, after i have some lunch.


Because of past MZ bugs, it is worth mentioning that the aliens move, attack and shoot their weapons normally.
