Symptoms
As stated in title, sometimes enemies will just stand around. They'll say their combat lines, or yell, but not draw weapons or attack, instead standing around, staring at me and sneering. Sometimes they'll run around aimlessly, but this clearly isn't how they're supposed to behave. I think this issue is actually related to the other, more pressing issue: when in Vault 87, after getting the GECK, I go to the room where I am supposed to be ambushed and captured. The grenade goes off, white screen. Enclave soldiers act like they're going to come in and do their thing, but they just stand in the doorway looking stupid instead, while I lay on the floor and do the look around dazedly thing. Autumn never shows. No one speaks.
What I have tried
I have tried disabling mods, I have tried getting past this extremely frustrating problem with the console, and I have tried loading an earlier save, but not one before I entered Vault 87. The only one before that was hours before, and after fighting with this problem for well over an hour I rage quit and went to the way earlier save.
I had found someone with my exact problem [Vault 87] in a forum, maybe this one, maybe another, but the solution they got was someone else taking their save file and attempting to fix it. They apparently got their problem fixed that way, but it left me with no way to fix it myself.
I really had no desire to come and ask about this because this is a major undertaking you guys have done and released for free, so I hate to ask for anything. But this is really killing my game.
