Can't keep dogmeats eyes in his sockets

I am playing my first TTW playthrough and have Dogmeat as my companion, but his eyes keep doing that floating next to his body vertically thing.

I have found some fixes for this glitch for NV ("Nivea dog eye fix"), which I have tried and they  did worke temporarily, but as soon as Dogmeat enters combat, his eyes pop out yet again. I think it might have to do with my Dogmeat leather armor FO3 mod that I converted to TTW.

When I remove the leather armor or packs from Dogmeat and he respawns, his eyes go back to normal temporarily but then goes back to floating next to him when he goes back into combat, and it's a hassle to have to remove and reequip his gear after every fight just so he doesn't look like a demon. Any help to permanently fix this issue without having to remove the mod?

This is fixed in TTW. You're gonna have to go through your load order and clean it up. If you're disabling that mod and not completely removing it that's probably what the problem is. You need to get rid of all dog / dog eye meshes.

Thanks, I was having the same problem with a dogmeat mod. I deleted the custom eye mesh and edited the esp to use vanilla, it works good now. I was still able to use the custom body mesh with no problems.
