Alt tab (Solved)

Can't seem to get the alt tab to work when the game freezes. I have disabled steam overlay. If the game crashes hard the win message window pops up saying fo has stopped responding etc and I am at the desktop but with a freeze I have to start the task manager and logout to do anything. Any ideas?

You should be able to force quit the game from the Task Manager. I do that all the time. There's a couple mods that will auto force-quit the game if it quits responding, but in my own experience, they're too sensitive on detecting the game not responding and force-quit the game when it's not needed. Particularly when the game gets certain kinds of NVAC hits, which can pause the game for several seconds.

That's the problem. I cannot get to the task manager page, only the options page of ctl alt del and choosing logout is the lesser of a hard shutdown. Looks like maybe playing in fake windowed mode might work.

A useful trick I discovered when I can't alt-tab during a freeze on Windows 10 is doing Windows Key + Tab and right clicking the locked up FNV applciation and moving it to another desktop. This will allow me to open task manager on my main desktop to force close it.

I have a problem on this too. Although I can alt-tab to desktop, then I can't alt-tab/enter back into the game. I have latest 3.2 ttw, Win8.1. Anybody knows why this is?
