FOMM Not Responding After Install of Main Files

Post by jzenterous26 » Thu Feb 26, 2015 8:43 pm

I use a windows 8.1, with an Intel Core i5-3570 CPU 3.40 GHz, with 8GB of ram.

I saved TTW to Windows (C:)/Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/common

I have a steam downloaded goty

My FOMM is version is 0.14.11.9

All that said im trying to download TTW. I followed all the steps and had no problems. i got to the point where i need to open up FOMM and go to package manager. i do all that and the two files are there. i double click the main files and it seems to install. after it is done installing however FOMM frezzes and doesnt respond. TTW is not in my mod load order at all. Ive tried to do it again then and the same thing happens except before it crashes it tells me all my files are in the folder already and askes if i want to overwrite them. which i say yes to all. now since i have windows 8 i figure that may be the problem but my fallout goty works fine. i was able to play it with no problems. so im not sure what the issue is. i tried to look for an answer but i couldnt find anyone having the same problem

I'm having the same problem.

I'm having the same problem. 2.73 installed fine with FOMM, but the newest version just freezes it.

Windows 7 x64. AMD Athlon X4 750K, 8gb Ram, FO3 Steam GotY. Tried Priderslayer's FOMM with and without the LAA patch linked in the FAQ.

EDIT: Updating to the must recent FOMM update from the other day fixed it.

I too am having the same

I too am having the same issue. It seems to finish installation of the main files, only to stop responding. When I close and restart FOMM the installation has clearly not worked.

If FOMM stopped responding

If FOMM stopped responding just wait.

Unless it finishes and an error message appears or it finishes and no TTW files appear in your Loading Order then there is no problem with FOMM.

Ok i got it to work. i followed this tutorial to a t: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R71DV7j6hWM

Basically i had to have a completely clean unmodded version of New Vegas. I also think one or two of the times i tried running the installer previously i forgot to run as administrator. i also know i didnt run FOMM as an administrator. It also did seem to freeze up for a bit but as the previous post says "patience young grasshopper". after a while of looking at the pinwheel of death it did end up working for me

5+GB of files takes a mighty

5+GB of files takes a mighty long time to uncompress in FOMM because the 7zip lib is old and slow as a turtle.
