...has been disconnected or does not exist at the server (I have read the FAQ, still have a question)

Post by ms4sman » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:18 pm

OK, so this is my first time installing TTW.  I am using Mod Organizer for this, and that is where my problem comes in.  I ran the TTW installer, and everything worked perfectly, and it built the FOMODS.  When I use MO to install them though, it sits and processes for a while, and eventually gives me the "...has been disconnected or does not exist at the server" error.  Now, I'm sure everyone wants to yell at me for not reading the FAQ, but I did.  And my understanding was that NMM has issues, but that FOMM should work.  Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't MO use FOMM to run FOMODS?  In that case why isn't this working for me?

On top of that problem, it USED to work fine!  I installed it a couple days ago, and MO ran the FOMODS just fine.  However there were other issues with the install, so I reinstalled everything (New Vegas, FO 3, MO, everything).  But now MO won't run the FOMODS correctly.

Does anyone know what the heck is going on?

BTW, I forgot to mention in my first post, I've got Fallout NV and Fallout 3 both Game of the Year edition from Steam.  I'm using MO obviously.  My current computer I'm using is a laptop, with Windows 8.2, i7363QM, 8GB RAM, and a GTX 635M GPU.

MO uses NMM to install FOMODS

Post by KeltecRFB » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:26 pm

MO uses NMM to install FOMODS and it has a FOMM shim so you can use FOMM or FOMM Fork with MO (however not really needed after MO 1.2.16).  And where are you installing the TTW FOMODS from, local hard drive or server?  I notice it is coming from D: Drive instead of C: Drive.

Oh one other thing, make sure your user Temp Directory is empty or cleaned-up just in case you need to leave something in there.  If it fills up, mods will stop installing.

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what do you mean Temp directory?  I will check it.  I'm installing from a local harddrive, but my laptop has an SSD and a regular HDD, D: is the HDD that I use for storage of big stuff like games since the SSD is limited on space.

Sorry, that's what I thought

Sorry, that's what I thought you meant, but I wanted to make sure before I did it.  I have cleared it, and I'll try installing again in a little while.  I've gotta do a few other things first though.

I cleared the Temp dir, and tried to install the FOMODs again.  Same error.  Any more ideas?

Yikes.  So then is my only option to manually install?  I'd like to avoid that if possible.  If I use FOMM manually, will MO still pick it up as an unmanaged mod?  I tried it once, and MO didn't seem to detect it.  In addition, when I went to install the optional with FOMM, it said I was missing the Main file, which I wasn't as I had just installed it.
