Another Cry for Help from Germany

Hello Everyone,

First of all, i really love what you do here, the idea is brilliant! So brilliant in fact, that i bought a Fallout 3 a third time. I own a CE for Xbox and a couple of Retail Versions of the Game and DLCs for PC, of wich i lost some. After seeing this brilliant Mod, i immidietly threw my Money at Valve to give me a Game of the Year Edition, to let me play this masterpiece of a mod. Little did i know, that the german Version does not work. I honestly didn't consider googling for this, because all other mods for Bethesda games were never bothered by the language.

Long story short: I just spent 20 Bucks for a Game i already own multiple times, just to learn that it's completly useless. Is there anyone who has any idea whatsoever besides buying the gime for the forth time? I wouldn't bother to play it in english subtitles or english audio. I just want to get it running. I hope anyone can help me. :(

The problem actually is here the law in Germany. It forces publisher to make a special version with less gore or whatever some crazy old censors think isn't fitting for you. So you can't buy a version in Germany which is uncensored. I am lucky here in Austria where this isn't the case and can switch the language at Steam at will (I bought the English version but it doesn't matter). Not much the TTW team can do to help you sadly.

Even when the planned language support is finished there are still the crippled German games. (I know there is/was a patch on Nexus at least for NV but it won't help you or us making it either).

The installer says the Fallout3.esm can't be pached. The New Vegas "Gore" Patch was simply switching some files in the New Vegas Folder and the German Censorship was gone. If i would get a Fallout3.esm from an austrian or english Version, couldn't that solve the Problem?

No! TTW installer is working for English of FO3/NV versions only atm. We are working on multi language support but that will still take a while.

Also we don't support any form of piracy (I know you wrote you own the originals several times now).

Alright. I bought a retail Version of the english Fallout Version. My fourth Fallout 3. I know that this awesome mod will be worth it!

Please write in your FAQ that it is not working with the german Version, at all. The FAQ just said, that only english versions are supported, I tought this would mean i had to switch language to english, wich wouldn't have been a problem. I think that would help a lot of gamers form here.

But thanks for the replys and go on working on this master piece!

Didn't know that it is even possible to switch the censored versions to English. It wasn't as they came out.

It isn't posible. But it is posible with 99% of the Games i ever encountered, and i pretty much play videogames for a living. Thats why i didn't even check if this is possible before buying a pc GOTY edition. I just assumed it would be.

Everything is working now and i love it! I work for a german Television Show about Gaming and i would love to write an article about this awesome mod! More people need to play it.

We have to talk about it atm. only a few of the team members are online. I am only one of them. It's possible but a bit complicated (slow mobile internet connection on my side) and sadly not really undisturbed mostly.
