Installation fails at Fallout3.esm

Post by washi » Tue Dec 30, 2014 11:14 pm

Hi,

I tried to install TTW. The installer always stops at the Fallout3.esm (complete log is attached:

Patching Fallout3.esm...

A patch for Fallout3.esm version (08-44-23-11-28-64-BC-67-5D-F1-80-98-C6-AC-22-96, 289384954 bytes, Murmur128) could not be found

Your version of Fallout3.esm cannot be patched. This is abnormal.

Install aborted.

I did not find much on the forums.

I already tried the following:

Validate Game Cache in steam.

Reinstall both games completely.

Perhaps somebody can help me.

Thanks

Best Regards

Washi

You have a non-English copy. The install requirements clearly state that, due to the nature of TTW, an English copy is currently required until we can find a way to procedurally modify the FO3 files.

Yep that was the problem. The steam article description for german only games was new for me and a little bit confusing.

Steam refunded the game and I got an international key from a reseller. Now the installation passed.

Thanks for the hint

No worries, sorry about the English only requirement, it's something the team is working to fix, but its a very complex requirement.

English is fine. I prefer it in games and other media because of bad synchronization.
The description in the steam store was simply misleading.

Installation worked fine and game started without problems. This weekend I am sure to break it with some mods ;-)

Have a good start into the new year.
