Issue with doc Mitchell's house

Post by nadesammich » Thu Nov 13, 2014 6:45 am

Ok, so early on I used the Enclave commander mod to quickly travel to new vegas so i could acquire a few items to use throughout my DC gaming experience, and that also required me to travel to doc Mitchell's house. Well on the way inside it triggered the white glare effect you get from first walking out, and I tcl'd my way around inside the walls to keep the doc from triggering the beginning scripts. I left, got stuff from other places in the mojave wasteland, and flew back to DC. went through most of my game, and decided it was time to head west. I used the train and popped up in the docs house like I'm supposed to, and everything is going good. THEN, the problems start. I leave his house with all my gear like normal, and once I load outside, I realize I already triggered the white screen, so it isn't activating again, which, in turn, isn't allowing me to pull out any type of weapon whatsoever. Along with this it also doesn't activate the beginning quests for any of the NV DLC and also doesn't allow me to properly talk to sunny in the bar. I do know that triggering the white screen is the issue, as I've checked literally EVERYTHING that could possibly be the issue with this. I'm simply wondering if you, the devs, or even anyone else here that may know how, could enlighten me with a solution as to how to fix this issue without me having to re-create my entire character and making sure I never go anywhere near goodsprings without riding the train first . Hopefully I didn't break NV in TTW.

Yeah, you're going to need to

Yeah, you're going to need to restart, or at least go back to a save before you first COC'd to NV. Sorry to hear it!

tbh, there might be ways to fix this, but they would risk a cascading failure and you'd end up more fubar'd than before.

One way of getting the items you want from Doc's House is to use the GECK and move the items (or the container(s) where those items are) and place them outside the vault 101 cave somewhere.

Or, y'know, just console them

Or, y'know, just console them into your game. That works too.

Well if you frequently

Well if you frequently console in the same stuff it is worth the time to pop an item box out in front V101.

Console the items also

Console the items also require knowing the items Base ID, which if they are custom mod items might be even harder to find out than just place a container with them in it.
