Fresh install play problems. Vault 101 Start

OK so I just installed TTW for the first time, no issue laoding mods, no issues compling EVE or NMC or Nevada skies. I'm playing through the Vault 101 escape mission, I get to the body of the scientist who was shot by guards, as soon as I loot him and get Dads Note it asks me for the Courier packs i want, i select them all. At this point, all the LIVE NPC's from the level dissapear, Amada, overseer, the 2 behind the glass, butch, his mother, the mr handy, all of them.

I go to the vault overseer terminal and click Open Overseer Tunnel, nothing happens.

My load order is as follows

I have no errors or conflicting mod popups, it was working fine until the overseer tunnel.

Any help?

Load order is fine, Install log is fine, no conflicting mods I can spot, try not using stash pack options and instead just tick the stash packs you want in your mod manager. TTW automatically delays the stash packs without needing that file.

well that sort of solved the issue, i could progress to the outside but the corpse of Jonas never spawned, i was not able to get the lab coat or dads message.

When I got dads message before it leveled me up to level 2 inside the vault which sparked the courier packs spawning. Now i don't level till I'm outside since I don't get the message.

I'm wondering if the courier packs are tied to jonas some how since leveling up is tied to the courier packs. does hitting lvl 2 inside the vault not allow progression to exit?

it really sounds like something in your load order is just absolutely wrecked, honestly. Disable every mod except TTW and test, enable them one at a time until it gets wrecked again.

I tested several load orders and got everything working. But i can recreate the error.

It DEFINTELY has to do with hitting lvl 2 before you exit Vault 101.

It's when you listen to Dads Message for you that you get enough exp to level.

(I'm going to try this without the slow level optional in TTW to see if that fixes it.)

Here are things that happen at various stages of Vault 101 opening if you hit lvl 2


If you level up to 2;


 




  1. before opening the overseers escape tunnel. It won't open and all NPC's despawn.


  2. After going through the tunnel but before opening the vault door, all NPC's despawn, Amata won't show up to trigger the locked door, the CONFIRMATION CHOICES before leaving the vault and the default leaving vault save won't trigger. you can still leave the vault and continue though


  3. After opening the door and speaking to Amata, the CONFIRMATION CHOICES before leaving the vault and the default leaving vault save won't trigger. You can still leave the vault and continue though.


To get around this I don't listen to me dads note till after I'm out of vault 101 entirely. it does nto seem to effect NPC's or quests outside the vault.



Note, none of the courier stashes or the Hardcore/softcore screens pop up till lvl 2.

I'm thinking it has more to do with those DLC activations and/or the hardcore/softcore selection then it does with level 2.



Normally you don't level till you LEAVE the vault in fo3, so I'm going to check if the slow level optional is affecting the level up earlier bug.

The optional Slow lvl 50

The optional Slow lvl 50 makes no effect at all on early xp, for some reason leveling to 2, pre leaving vault 101 despawns everything and stops scripted events.
