Shadows are big black Boxes

Post by cds29 » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:45 am

So i have an interesting problem that's been plaguing me for some time but haven't been able to fix on my own. All the actor shadows appear as big black boxes that follow them around. I have ran a heavily modded game so after a failed attempt to try out NMM 6.0 i started over and reinstalled my game.

Few things i want to clear first, based on some previous brief conversations in the Chat with a couple of people:

1) I don't run an ENB of any type at this moment. I tried using ENBoost for its stability function but gave up on it when the FNV4g would continue to load the full one and i personally have no confidence in tweaking my settings to justify running it.

2)This is a complete reinstall. I've uninstalled the game and deleted the folder in steam, completely removing it from my computer. Since I also have fo3 goty, so i can play ttw, i did the same for it also. These are, for better or worse, new downloads and not cache verified items.

3)This problem has existed since I upgraded to 2.7 of TTW from 2.4. I have no recollection or evidence that this existed in 2.4, the first TTW i ever downloaded and tried.

4)As my load order shows; i'm not running anything else other than TTW, Delay DLC ttw and ttw stash distribution. I wanted to start from basics and see the problem before any other variables were added to that game. I will not be adding Mods at this time until i can at least verify where the problem exists.

That being said, any insights and suggestion are welcomed because i would like to find resolution to this. I got by with just lighting mods before, but because of reinstall, i figured I tried to get this going right.

Go into My Documents\My Games

Go into My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV

Delete the inis, run the launcher and setup your settings again.

If you use FNV4GB, you should use the command line switch (in a shortcut) -laaexe FalloutNV4GB.exe , add this exe to your driver profile for Fallout New Vegas with NVidia inspector if you have an nvidia card, or create a new profile for it with CCC if you have an ATI card.
