   On entering Megaton from any other area (Craterside, Player's House, the Capital Wasteland, etc) the frame rate drops to 1 a minute before eventually crashing. Any other location is smooth, as are animations if I manage to start a conversation or bring up the pip-boy.


It started as a drop in frame rate within Megaton after the third or fourth trip and got progressively worse.


What I've tried; Disabling MoiraCompanion and more perks, applying the steps in RoyBatty's performance thread, and on suspecting it was an AI script issue, ~killall. 


Any ideas?

I don't understand how you have esm's below esp's, that can't be the real load order. What mod manager is that?

I'm not certain how they got there either... although I do the FNVEdit Master Update and Master Restore option, so the file headers are marked as .esm. I'm guessing don't do that either?

Okay, Master Restore'd, and

Okay, Master Restore'd, and re-sorted load order. Also found out I'd been using both versions of risesbooks. Stripped out one of the two, and it went from crashing to super slowdown.

I did manage to catch something in the console command window;


'Replacing Grognak the Barbarian with Grognak the Barbarian' repeats ten times, followed by


'GetVATSValue 6,15 -> 0.00'


Couldn't identify the VATS value thing, but thought it might be related to either MagazinesReworked and risebooks or Bookperks. Disabling them did not change anything.


I don't have Grognak book in the inventory.

Fellout should be last in

Fellout should be last in your load order, it also may conflict with StreetLights somehow. StreetLights works fine with other weather mods, so I would attribute it Fellout if that's the case.


You still seem to have too many esp's for rises berks.


Are the Fallout 3 mods properly converted?

Dropped Fellout to last, no change. Disabled Fellout, also no change. Turned off Streetlights, still no dice.


RisebooksMagRwrkd requires MagazinesReworked. BookPerks & BookRestoration are completely separate mods, and I can only find one instance of rise in my load order. What's standing out?


The mods that I converted were Book Restoration (pretty self contained; puts a kit that converts ruined books into scrap paper that then can be further converted into schematic upgrades, skill books, or pre-war books. Kit shows up in the library, and uses a lunchbox form. Scripting seems to just follow requests to make a new thing, but has to be activated and didn't generate issues in any other area) and Water_Tower_Hideout (converts the water tower near the mega-mart into a possible player base. Self contained and does not convert perfectly; have to teleport out of the cell. Doesn't interact with anything else; it's basically another mini-hideout.)


Every other Fallout 3 mod in there is the TTW version. 


Conversion was adding New Vegas masters, running the script, and checking for IDMs and undeleted references. Those are still things I should do, right?


Also, thanks for taking the time to help with this. Particularly given that I'm clearly using some out of date methods.

Deactivated TTW - Fellout.esp and deleted it from \Data\, swapped in RWLE. I do like the visuals, but Megaton is still chugging.


Uninstalled Streetlights... and the weather changed, but Megaton chugs in the fog as well as in the daylight.


Definitely keeping RWLE; I dig the more vibrant color scheme.
