Alright, I'm not new to installing mods (the time of just downloading and wondering why it doesn't work is long behind me) and I'm making sure to follow other threads in the hopes of a quick fix, but I'm coming across a few issues I'd like some help with.
1. During installation, after building the Fallout 3 meshes (and potentially a few quick others), my computer shuts down.
I've read this may be caused due to my computer overheating during the installation period, but I'm not entirely convinced it's a heat issue, but I won't discard that entirely. My laptop isn't exactly cutting edge in power, but it has served me for five full years at this point. However, shutting down technically doesn't stop the installation process.
When I start my laptop up again, I can continue the installation and it will tell me there's already an existing version of the Fallout 3 mesh file now created. I'm thinking this is where I went wrong for problem 2 as I clicked to use it and from there, my computer never shut down again.
2. When I have everything mounted and ready to go (I unchecked all mods aside from required for initial testing), it gives me the expected loading screen, but I can skip none of the frames as one could normally do and once it reaches the Desert Ranger screen, the menu never pops up and from that point onward it never changes.
I've read up a little and what I'm convinced about is that it's a corrupted installation thanks to using the mesh file created during the shut down. I tested which of the files may be causing issues by unticking all of the new content created and leaving only base Fallout NV stuff, which allowed the game to run just fine, but the moment I ticked the Fallout 3 box, it gave me the problem I experienced with everything added on.
Any tips or tricks to work with? If it is heat, is there a sort of trade I could make for it to run at lower capacity, regardless of the time it would add? I've seriously wanted to play Tale of Two Wastelands for some time (especially since apparently FO3: GOTY just refuses to run on my laptop) and I certainly hope there's a workaround I can go with.
