Texture Issues in CW

Post by inanisquadra » Sun Aug 17, 2014 7:26 pm

I would like to preface this issue by saying I'm greatly appreciative for this mod's existence. I played RFCW when it was still around, and, though buggy, I adored it. The amount of effort that's gone into TTW is astonishing and I recognise that you guys have done some excellent work.

As for my issues; they're twofold. The first is a plethora of texture issues which seem to have certain items/NPCs (Mirelurk Hunters and Super Mutant Behemoths thus far are those affected) "scrolling" through numerous textures. Their skin will take on the ability of stone, metal, etc, all apparently other game textures. I can provide screenshots for this issue if needs be, but I imagined this was clear enough. I also preempt a response of "reinstall TTW", which I'm somewhat loathe to do and would much prefer a simpler solution, but if that's the case, I'll do it.

The second is one which is slightly more offputting and does require screenshots. Whilst traversing the DC exterior cell, the distance appears to be a very curious shade of pink-purple, only for this issue to be resolved upon approach. Your two problems could be related. Make sure that you actually installed these textures that seem to be missing. The purplish/pink landscape is caused by missing terrain textures as is the scrolling/flickering appearance of world objects and other things.

Try a manual install, or just move the .bsas that the installer created for you from ttw\main files to nv\data.

Thanks to help from Tricky I've realised that this was an issue the origin of which derives from, somehow, the installer just not copying my FO3 Textures BSA. For anyone with the same issue, just renaming and copying the BSA from your FO3 root works perfectly, as will a reinstall of TTW.

Preferably rerunning the installer. If all the other files are already built it'll just redo that one BSA, and as that's where all the updated FO3 items are you'll be missing a ton of fixes if you just rename the FO3 one.
