[SOLVED] Installing TTW Optional files - fallout 3 music

Post by Ky6000 » Fri Jul 25, 2014 7:41 am

Hello, I am currently trying to install the 3 fallout 3 sound optional files for TTW. (Fallout 3 Main Title, Fallout 3 Player Voice, Fallout 3 Sound Effects.) I AM using ttw version 2.6.3a, as this was a bug fixed in version 2.31a. When I use FMM(0.13.21) or NMM(0.50.3), both have an "installation complete" message, but the 3 fallout esp.'s listed above don't show up, but all the other optional files do.

Comp specs:

Intel i7, 16gbRAM, Windows 8(not 8.1) x64.

I have had a look in unpacking bsa. files into esp. files but that seems too difficult and unnecessary. Can't find any mention of this bug other then in the older versions. I have gotten the steam download of Fallout GOTY, and Fallout NV Ultimate.

Any Help would be appreciated.

That's because there is no ESP for those files. Just BSAs.

And, FYI, you don't unpack BSAs into ESPs, they are completely different. BSAs hold game assets like textures, meshes and, in this case, sounds. ESPs hold game data like weapon stats, loot lists and NPCs.

hmm ok. so when I select the 3 sound files, they do get added into the game, but I just can't see them, making this post useless. However the main menu still has the fallout NV music.

EDIT: Everything works now. Just had a big misunderstanding of the things that optional package had included.

Thanks for clearing that bit of info up!
