CW Radio problems

CW Radio problems

Apart from the GNR, none of the radios work. Now, Enclave I don't care about much, but I can't hear the distress signals, so they don't trigger the quests =/. I pick the radios up on the Pip-Boy just fine, but when I select them, they just "play" silence. And not the "static between messages", just silence.

I know the load order is a bit... BIG, but none of the mods affect the radios, directly. Although I do have some "Weak Radio Signal Advertitron", but I have no idea whether it's from TTW or some other mod (I haven't visited the Mojave yet).


ALso, I disabled the DLC Delay TTW mod, and immediately picked up the DLC radio signals - but they were also silent, and didn't trigger the quests. I, however, did pick up the Mysterious Signal from the OWB NV DLC, and that played fine (no other NV DLC signals). Zeta, Wehrner's and the Outcast signals showed up, but silent (no quests).

Also, I could use some advice on where to begin looking for the cause of the problem myself - GECK? FNVedit? I tried looking for anything radio related in FNVedit for some conflicts, got lost in seconds. And I don't even know here to begin with GECK, took me like half an hour to change an armor from Medium to Light... =/

I scrounged around on the forums a bit, found out the issue might be related to a timescale mod - I set the timescale back to default 30 in Project Nevada options, then set it to Static 30 in Imps Complex Needs (and then disabled Imps all together). I did manage to silence GNR while tinkering with it, but reloading the game (with the same settings) brought GNR back. The rest of the stations weren't affected by any of the changes.


Don't know what else to disable, nothing else seems to do with timescale (or radios)...


PS And why is this thread marked "unpublished"? Like a mod/admin needs to see it first, to make sure it's not a completely stupid/redundant/easily answered by searching the forum or something?

Errr, update, I guess. The Outcast Signal works, triggers quest. Reilly's Rangers didn't (why I started the thread in the first place)... Enclave is also still silent.

Just a cursory glance tells me you missed one thing in the FAQ.  Try it without MMUE and check the FAQ to make sure there aren't other mods or things you have going that are jacking things up.

You played the game with MMUE, your save is permanently broken. Uninstall MMUE and use TTWFixes, and start your game over. It's in the FAQ not to use MMUE for a reason, as it repurposes forms that TTW/FO3 need to function properly.


Also, next time make a merge patch.

It's not MMUE, it's MMUE Plus. (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/47014/?) It's not the bugfixes, but rather a collection of small mods, mostly gameplay tweaks. I had MMUE as well, but I did delete that before installing TTW. And apart from the radio thing, the game works properly, saving and loading works fine, literally no other problems... What issues would I expect, if MMUE was still active (or if MMUE Plus had the same effect as MMUE)? I'm guessing missing content, or something like that (I read that thread linked in the FAQ about MMUE compatibility), right? Well, I've got none of that...

I pick up all the signals just fine, but they are silent and don't trigger the quests (since you need to hear the full message for the quest to trigger)...


To be perfectly honest, it's not that big of a deal, since I can just trigger the quests with the console like I did with Reilly's Rangers)... Still, I wonder what causes it.

Up until recently MMUEP required MMUE, sorry I can't keep track of the tens of thousands of mods on nexus.


Still, it conflicts quite a bit with TTW script changes, however these are to do with New Vegas end of things. I didn't check them closely, but it has to do with Delay DLC from grib, which isn't the TTW version. There are other scripts which alter things with radios too.


It must be something else then... I've had no trouble triggering those quests myself, and neither has Risewild afaik. I did Trouble on the Home Front recently. I can go check if Riley's Rangers works later.
