Red Error Signs?

Post by pride81 » Fri Jul 11, 2014 11:06 pm

Ok so I've been having this issue for a little while now and have had no luck. A few members of the community have been attempting to assist me with this and no luck. I've read all of the FAQs and installed, reinstalled, Fallout 3 and TTW with no luck.

In a random house in Springvale there's one of those error messages. This wasn't a big deal, I thought.

Then, when I'm attempting to go into the hatchery for Doctor Lesko in Marigold, there's a whole chunk of the railway missing, which doesn't allow me to complete the mission.

I have Fallout 3 GOTY and Fallout New Vegas with all DLC through Steam.

I am running Windows 8.1

Any other specs will be provided if asked for.

Your pastebin has expired so

Post by TrickyVein » Sat Jul 12, 2014 7:26 pm

Your pastebin has expired so unfortunately I can't look at your load order. That house in Springvale, however is where content from Broken Steel is placed.

Copy and paste the broken steel .bsa from your install location to your NV data folder. You may also have to do the same with other .bsas. Did you install from a .fomod? If so, you should follow the manual installation steps.

I checked his installation

Post by RoyBatty » Sat Jul 12, 2014 9:45 pm

I checked his installation log again and it looks like Broken Steel's meshes did not finish being created. In the chat he was going to rebuild the installer and try again, so maybe his issue is solved already.

Welp, I rebuilt Broken Steel

Post by pride81 » Sun Jul 13, 2014 12:30 am

Welp, I rebuilt Broken Steel content, and still no luck with getting rid of the errors. Also, if it means anything, my game loads up now as Fallout: New Vegas instead of Fallout: A Tale of Two Wastelands.

ok can you try something for

Post by A55K1KA » Sun Jul 13, 2014 1:08 am

ok can you try something for me? go into your data find the meshes folder.

Cut and paste it into a different directory (like your desktop), try running the game and see if those same issues are there (run with just the NV, NV DLC, FO3, FO3 DLC & TTW ESMs active)..

if the issue persists, try the following steps... (you can probably place your meshes folder back now too)

step 1. first find the folder you placed the output files in from the TTW installer.

step 1a. if you dont have that folder/files then re run the installer as per normal.

step 2. once you've done that, go into the folder mentioned above (ttw install path) and delete a single BSA archive, noting which one you took out.

step 3. rerun the installer and make sure you do not regenerate existing files.

step 4. repeat processes 2 & 3 until you have deleted and regenerated each of the BSA archives.

step 5. grab the BSA archives from your ttw install path and copy & paste them into your NV data folder.

step 6. test in game.

hope that helps.

Well, I got good news and bad

Post by pride81 » Sun Jul 13, 2014 6:15 pm

Well, I got good news and bad news. The good news is that I got it to work, no errors in Springvale, but the bad news is that to do this, I had to scrub my system of everything Fallout-related and re download and re install everything.

To compare, I destroyed the zombie infestation in my city, but only by nuking the city and killing innocent civilians.

But thanks for the help from everyone.
