Are you using the English

Post by KeltecRFB » Mon Oct 06, 2014 4:16 pm

Are you using the English version of Fallout 3 and New Vegas?  If not, that is your problem.  Only English and I believe Russian are supported.

EDIT:  If that is the case, check this out.

No, i'm using the english

Post by Galliano » Mon Oct 06, 2014 4:20 pm

No, i'm using the english goty (steam) and the german single + all dlc (steam) version because of this Tutorial (https://taleoftwowastelands.com/content/ttw-convert-different-language-tutorial).

The installer worked. I've got a few errors regarding voice and sound-files. The rest seems fine.

I now do a few backup-steps and then try to install the ttw.fomod.

Are you interested in the Install-Log?

I know that voice and sound

Post by KeltecRFB » Mon Oct 06, 2014 4:51 pm

I know that voice and sound errors were normal in previous TTW versions either because it was an installer reporting error or it was truly missing.  I have to check my installer log when I get home to see.  I did not check it because it installed without an error being reported.  If you followed the Alpha Download instructions and the Language Tutorial, you should be fine unless something is still missing or accidentally left out in the Language Conversion tutorial?

Did the FOMODS install without incident?

The installer reporting error

Post by JaxFirehart » Mon Oct 06, 2014 6:48 pm

The installer reporting error has been fixed, so the installer is truly having trouble finding those files. The "file is of an unexpected version" errors are routine when using non-english files, the only unexpected version error that is NOT language based is

WARNING: File is of an unexpected version: meshes\dlc05\furniture\dlc05alienchair.nif - (FA-C9-22-CC-EC-6E-FB-98-68-00-22-E1-1E-09-C8-62, 607017 bytes, Murmur128)

Of more concern is the VAST amount of file not found errors. The game will play and install just fine, but expect tons of missing dialog.

I have problems installing

Post by Galliano » Mon Oct 06, 2014 7:48 pm

I have problems installing the fomod files. Fomm (v0.13.21 fixed 7.3) says it is installed correctly, but it isn't. The esm and other files are missing (only anchorage and broken steel bsa get installed). So I packed my own fomod and split them into 3 fomod-files.

I have changed the fomm with CFF Explorer (can handle more than 2gb) and then the 3 fomod files were installed correctly. Maybe an out of memory error was my problem with the single-fomod. don't know. Maybe I will test it, when I get some time.

After changing the ini-files I can start the game without any problems.

Had my bithday, escaped the vault, tgm and tmm1 to pen.ave, did the Union Station quest and traveled to New Vegas with all my gear. For now everything seem to work fine.

So I can ignore these errors for now?

Thanks for the installer-update!

I will play as normal and see what things are missing.

For now I need to read many posts here in the forum to get some informations and look which mods I could install.

You may have some dialog

Post by KeltecRFB » Tue Oct 07, 2014 1:59 pm

You may have some dialog issues so if that is ok with you, then you can ignore them.  As for the ini files not changing, it may have been because it was in German and sometimes it does not get changed for different reasons.  Glad to see you have the beta (TTW is still in beta) beta (and the Language Tutorial is still in beta) working.  I know the devs want multi-language support but they may wait until or close to final release.  It would be easier to add multi-language support when all of the convergence and/or game bugs that were never fixed are worked out or bypassed.
