[CLOSED] Project Nevada Sprint Stopped Working

Post by tikiking1 » Sat Jun 21, 2014 8:16 pm

In order to cut back on the people going "Help it's not working" and then providing no information, here is a quick guide to what we need to help you.

  • System Specs (including Operating System, Processor, and Memory, nobody cares about your graphics card)

    • Windows 8.1, Intel i7-3630QM, 10GiB RAM because I'm weird

  • Mod Manager and Version

    • The TTW FOMODs are installed via FOMM, but all other mods are in NMM. This is because of the (apparently already known) issue in which NMM garbage-collects something too early.

  • TTW Install Log (My Documents\my games\TaleOfTwoWastelands\Install Log.txt)

    • Attached.

  • Current Load Order (Most mod managers have a quick and easy way to export this)

    • Also attached.

    • This issue manifests both with and without ENBSeries. NVSE is installed in both cases.

  • Symptoms (What is it doing vs. What you expect it to be doing)

    • I just got to the Mojave (there may have been bugs with that specific piece, I landed on Doc Mitchell's roof?), and finished the NV character creation quest. I am trying to sprint using Project Nevada. Instead, my character exhibits the normal vanilla "Shift mean walk" behaviour.

    • Sprint worked fine in the Capital Wasteland.

  • What you have already tried?

    • I tried disabling ENBSeries. The bug manifests regardless.

    • I tried resetting the hotkey for Run/Walk in the vanilla settings. No change.

    • I tried turning PN Sprint off and back on. Didn't fix it.

    • I tried equipping a weapon to force speed recalculations. Nada.

Additionally, we'd like to have some information on your specific version of Fallout 3:

I'm going to assume that you want both Fallout 3 and New Vegas' info.

New Vegas: Originally purchased on a DVD, which was one of those nifty Steam-required discs. It did not originally come with the DLCs, so I purchased them on this most recent Summer Sale via buying the entire Ultimate Edition, as it was cheaper. I have reinstalled the entire game since buying the Ultimate Edition, including deleting its directory in SteamApps.

Fallout 3: Purchased GOTY in the Summer Sale.

Sprint doesn't work if you

Sprint doesn't work if you have a crippled leg or are over-encumbered. Sometimes, sprint fails to take into account certain perks or console added weight modifications. Other than that, usually holstering/equipping a weapon helps or crouching/standing. What is your weight/limit? Are any limbs crippled?

All limbs are full health, weight is 196/275 according to Pip-Boy. Actually, I didn't notice this until you messaged, but I can't unholster my weapon or zoom using right-click, nor can I crouch. I checked the controls, and they're not the issue either.

When you say you checked the controls, do you mean you used GetPlayerControlsDisabled? If not, do so.

Movement - Enabled

Movement - Enabled

Looking - Enabled

Pipboy - Enabled

Fighting - Disabled

POV Switch - Enabled

Rollover Text - Enabled

Sneaking - Disabled

So, is this a script error of some sort? EnablePlayerControls does immediately fix it, but if there is a root error, it'd still be good to weed it out, right?

It sounds like the TTW_StartupMenu butchered the NV char gen quest somehow.

I would console EnablePlayerControls  and just avoid Doc from now on.
