Cannot interact with doc mitchells door/can't finish "Ain't that a kick in the head"

Post by asaharasensei » Wed Jun 04, 2014 10:16 pm

I have been running TTW for about 2 days with no problems at all, but after riding the train to the Mojave wasteland, i get stuck at doc mitchells house.

After the intro video, the regular opening sequence plays, giving me the option to change name and my facial features, Doc leads me to the vigor tester, etc. (vigor tester menu does not pop up, as expected with TTW)

He leads me to the front door of his house, gives me back my gear and my new pip boy. Afterwards it takes me to his standard dialogue menu. Instead of being able to thank him for helping me, etc it instead takes me to the menu with "i'm hurt", "I need medical supplies", etc. I'm not sure if this is intended but I thought i'd mention it just in case. After talking to Doc mitchell he just stands there, constantly repeating his mention of returning my gear whenever I try to speak to him, and I cannot interact with his front door. No options appear, I cannot open the door, and I cannot get doc mitchell to move.

I can COC to goodsprings, but this leaves the quest "Ain't that a kick in the head" unable to progress. I can go back to doc mitchells house through his front door, but once in I am trapped again and unable to interact with his front door.

I have tried running just TTW and it's bug fixes + base games and official DLC, bug still occurs.

I use Nexus mod manager (the latest version) and have the GOTY/Ultimate edition of fo3/NV from Steam. I use LOOT to fix my load order.

I am running Windows 7 home premium (sp 1) with an AMD FX-4100 Quad core processor @3.60 ghz with 8 gb of ram.

Load order: http://pastebin.com/jXg5yBh4

TTW install log: http://pastebin.com/MhaX76mP

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Double checked and made sure everything follows the requirements.

Loaded a clean save and tried again, same problem.

I had the same problem that turned out to be from a conflicting mod which didn't turn on player input after finishing talking to the doc. If you open console and type EnablePlayerControls can you exit normally?

Rather than start a new thread since I'm having the same problem, I figured I'd post in this one.

EDIT: Turns out that the base tutorial killer esp was causing the problem (for me at least), in case this happens to anyone else.

System specs: Win 8.1 | Intel i7 quad core @ 2.20GHz | 8 GB RAM

Mod Manager: NMM 0.50.3

See attached for install log and load order.

Symptoms: same as OP. coc goodsprings also doesn't fix it. I tried  completequest 104c1c  as well. This causes Doc to walk away, but the door is still unusable. setstage 104c1c 200  ends the quest and starts the next one. Doc walks away, and it goes from 11PM to 8AM. Then, it freezes.

Also, I have to use  enableplayercontrols  to access my pip-boy. And, because I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen, checking the map before ending the quest shows me on the very right-side edge of CW.
