Installation aborted (with legal, original games)

Post by Sr.Gris » Tue Apr 22, 2014 9:30 am

Hello, I discovered this a few days ago and decided to give it a try.

Bad part comes when i leave all night long the installer patching and etc and i wake up with a "installation aborted" and something related to a legal copy.

This happenned while patching Fallout3.esm

Not the facts. I DO have original, legal copies of Fallout3 and Fallout New Vegas fully patched with all DLCs

Why the heck is happening this to me?! Is there a manually installation or something? I cannot wait 6/7 hours to get another unfair "installation aborted".

EDIT: yes, installation was set on Admin mode

Are all your relevant libraries and drivers up to date?

What medium is your fallout 3? (steam, gfwl, disc based, etc)

I just went through the exact same thing and the only way I got it to work was to buy a new downloaded version from Steam. I finally got it working last night after going through the install procedures Saturday and Sunday multiple times. I had a fully licensed and patched, English version I bought at Best Buy and registered through GFWL years ago.

I'm NOT saying that this is what you will have to do, I'll leave that to the admins and guru's around here who are WAY smarter than me, lol. This is what worked for me though.
