Missing Meshes and Textures - in the Mojave Only?

Post by MarchUntoTorment » Wed Jul 09, 2014 2:15 am

Well, this is a strange one.

I've spent the last... well, a while, actually playing in the Capital Wasteland after my initial trek into the Mojave, and all seemed well and good.

However, things have become disastrous upon my return to the Mojave. Within moments of arriving, I'm getting huge, chronic missing mesh and texture issues consistent with problems like an overburdened Load Order and other such bugs. Additionally, text is always bunched together and the game refuses to pause. It generally crashes after a few minutes; returning to the Capital Wasteland does nothing to fix the problems. Reloading a save made in the CW, however, makes everything work fine again, even if I play for hours upon hours.

Does anyone have the first clue what's going on here? I'm frankly confounded. It's rendered the Mojave unplayable, which is really troubling, for obvious reasons.

If it makes any difference, I was venturing to the Mojave using COC (and later experimented using Vertibird Travel from Enclave Commander), NOT using Union Station.

You probably have too many plugins.  The game will run with more plugins when you're in a mod added area than in vanilla fnv.  Try uninstalling (or at least removing the .esp's from your data folder, as even unchecked plugins will still cause the problem) a couple dozen mods and see if it fixes the problem.

Wait a second, unchecked plugins will cause problems?

Christ, that explains a bit... I've got at least as many unused plugins in my data folder as I have used.

I'm not at home for the next week and a bit, but as soon as I get back, I'll try this.

Anyway, though, I'm not expecting too many issues - the plugin hard limit (which generally causes these issues to arise) is 140, and I'm at 131. So I'm not too close. Still, I might try cutting out a few non-essential plugins and see if that helps cut down my LO by ten or so. I'll check back here once that's done, and let y'all know if I'm still having troubles.

Actually depending on the computer the limit can be as low as 125 take or leave a couple ones cheeky and TTW does already clog that limit a bit by needing all of the FNV, FO3 and their DLC's in that Load Order (13 already without the crap packs and add +4 more with the crap packs).

That reminds me, I need to uninstall the damn crap packs. They're autoloaded by FNV for some reason.

Anyway, I'll run 120 plugins and then see how it goes.

Delete the .nam files to prevent the crap packs from autoloading.
