ok, i just checked my load

Post by A55K1KA » Mon Apr 07, 2014 1:31 pm

ok, i just checked my load order to double check which esm files were and were not working, i had a feeling i missed something and i was right.

turns out that i need to deactivate the following masters in order to get the menu to show up...

BrokenSteel.ESM

PointLookout.ESM

ThePitt.ESM

I cannot definitively say if Tale Of Two Wastelands.ESM is an issue or not since i cannot reactivate it without its masters active but the 3 i mentioned above are definantly causing the issue.

Anchorage, Zeta and Fallout3.ESM are all fine, the game loads the menu with them active.

Is there anyway to resolve the issue with the ESM files that arent working?

Also sorry for not realising it was 3 esm files causing the issue sooner, i must of skipped a few combinations while finding the cause.

People have had success

People have had success simply re-running the installer, on occasion. You install log looks good, nothing jumps out at me from your INI, so I'm afraid I have no concrete advice.

Just re-installed using the

Just re-installed using the TTW installer, but before I could move on to testing i noticed a message saying that "this program may not have installed correctly" it had an option for installing again with recommended settings, wondering if this had happend to anyone else or if it might make a difference.. regardless I am going to try it with the "recommended settings" and see if there is a change.

Hope it works cause if it doesnt I am basically stuck re-installing every 40-50 minutes with my fingers crossed everytime.

It is an unfortunate side-effect of the protection put in place for copyright purposes. Still, re-download and install a few times. Try the FOMODs and [if unsuccessful] then a manual install.

Post by A55K1KA » Tue Apr 08, 2014 6:48 am

Would having a UK Fallout NV retail (disk) activated through steam, cause any issues? I noticed that bethesda made a US and UK version of the patches.

Sorry for bringing this up now, I stumbled across my disk today and released it was not a downloaded version directly from steam.

I figure there must be a difference between the patches or else why would they do it? so thought I had better post this new information.

I don't think it would cause any problems, since I have the Fallout NV Ultimate Edition disc version from UK and it works well for me. But you can always just install through steam without the disk I guess frown.

Ok i have the issue resolved

Post by A55K1KA » Thu Apr 10, 2014 3:12 am

Ok i have the issue resolved to a point thanks to jax.

Turns out i had a version of the steam fallout 3 GOTY which some how included GFWL.

he suggested deleting the bsa files associated with the esms causing the no menu issue, and now it works.

However this also means i cannot play any of the 3 dlc causing the issue.
