Menu freeze - OA cause?

Post by jcd1993 » Mon Feb 03, 2014 10:16 pm

Hey forum,

After many hours exchanging punches with the installer I've finally got all of the files in the right places, however I instantly ran into the menu freeze bug...

Through trial and error I've deduced that the problem lies with Operation Anchorage, as the menu only freezes when OA is added into the load order. I can't get TTW to load either, however I assume this is due to OA being unticked in an attempt to avoid a freeze.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 so I had to use the x32 installer add-on... thing...

My NV and FO3 are as clean as can be as I've just had my computer reset so the only things they've seen are a couple of patches and DLC installation. FO3 is from disk, NV is on Steam.

No idea where to go with this. If it's any help I managed to get RFCW working back in the day with no dramas with both games considerably modded.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

JD

Update: (double post, I know, I know)

Fixed.

Not sure why it would load everything except for OA and TTW, but until it becomes a problem I'm not going to fuss over it.

What it took was a complete reinstallation of TTW, manually this time. My PC, whilst being pretty well equipped only has 4GB of RAM and I believe this is the cause of the problem. Following the automatic install I overlooked the line stating that 8GB minimum was needed to run the FOMOD following the belief of "my computer's badass, lacking a little RAM won't be an issue". Initally there were errors before the install completed but after some meddling I managed to get it to finish, yet obviously it didn't finish correctly.

Manual install was easy enough and works perfectly.

TL;DR if your setup has less RAM than required for the love of all that is holy follow the manual installation.

Cheers for a cracking mod guys.
