TTW keeps crashing, disabled AMD evolved app fixes it

Post by corranis » Sun Jun 01, 2014 10:35 pm

Had a fresh TTW install and followed every guide there was on the site but the mod still crashed.

I then by rare chance disabled my AMD gaming evolved app and it all ran fluently. Must be a fault of Fallout New Vegas but I wished to share this info regardless for people that have this problem.

Always good to know things like this laugh.

Thank you for finding the problem, finding the solution and spend a bit of time to post it here (which people should do more but once they have a problem they managed to fix, who cares if it happens to others...) yes.

If you have an ENB, most overlay programs will cause crashes. DirectX hooking conflicts and the such.

That's quite true. Any overlay, not just Raptr/ Gaming Evolved.

With the exception of the steam overlay which I know DOES work on Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. It doesn't work on several other games though. The AMD Gaming Evolved Overlay is all around buggy with many games and causes a lot of crashes. Out of curiosity, did you have an ENB running or was it a clean install with just TTW?

Remember AMD Evolved is a beta app and that's why I didn't install it myself.  Although, I must admit the GUI looks nice.

Was with a clean install of TTW before I could install an ENB. Slowly putting my mods back now to not bug anything up. Haven't played this since one of the 1.someting version.
