Infinite Loading screen

Post by ASpelling » Tue Feb 04, 2014 12:03 pm

I can't seem to get ttw to install and can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Mod Manager:    FOMM from this site.

Load Order:

    FalloutNV.esm

    DeadMoney.esm

    HonestHearts.esm

    OldWorldBlues.esm

    LonesomeRoad.esm

    GunRunnersArsenal.esm

    CaravanPack.esm

    ClassicPack.esm

    MercenaryPack.esm

    TribalPack.esm

    Fallout3.esm

    Anchorage.esm

    ThePitt.esm

    BrokenSteel.esm

I get the infinite loading screen.  Have waited for over 20 mins still stuck there have to CTRL-ALT-DEL to get out.

I used to have TTW 2.2? I think it was and it worked, unfortunately I deleted it from my system when I got the new TTW installer, so I can't check to see if it works.  Both Fallout 3 and NV are new installs with NV having NVSE also installed.  Tried it with and without NVSE.

I have run both games to make sure that they actually load and play.

I have uac disabled.  I run ttw installer as admin.

I tried copying my installs to c:\Temp to see if it was a problem with them being in C:\Program Filesx86 (I just moved the entire directory to c:\temp)

I have tried updating my games.

I have tried the Manual install (with editing the ini) and the FOMM Package install.

I have tried reinstalling both games. Deleteing C:\Users\Aaron\Documents\My Games\Fallout NV and C:\Users\Aaron\Documents\My Games\Fallout 3

I have tried renaming the BSAopt x32.exe to BSAopt x64.exe

When I run FNVedit it always seems to take forever for fallout 3 to load, no errors though.

Looking at the Log I always seem to be missing a lot of voices, but When I open up the BSA with FOMM they are there or atleast the handfull that I actually checked.

I bought both games through Amazon

I have Fallout 3 GOTY DVDs. http://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?R=2LU6O31M9BM5I&C=3T5MUR8F9569O&H=MAOER2RSIBKKBY3BD3D1NADWAWEA&T=C&U=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fdp%2FB002BXKJA0%2Fref%3Dpe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item

I Have Fallout NV: Ultimate edition DVD. http://www.amazon.com/gp/r.html?R=2LU6O31M9BM5I&C=3T5MUR8F9569O&H=GPYVMPHXAQONQASI7JGYBX0E5CEA&T=C&U=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fdp%2FB0065NP39E%2Fref%3Dpe_385040_30332200_pe_309540_26725410_item

I have run both games and started playing, didn't save just made sure they worked.

Thank you for the in depth information, unfortunately nobody knows where this came from or what causes it. Do you have any NVSE plugins installed? Such as NVAC?

And try running the verify file integrity for NV.  It worked for at least one person in the past.

Yes! I do Have nvac.dll and sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.dll  I also tried it with fnv4gb.exe

I tried removing them (deleted /data/nvse/ as well as fnv4gb.exe and nvse_loader.exe ),and still get the infinite loading screen.

I tried verifying the game cache and it tells me that 1 file failed and will be re-aquired, but no download yet even on high priority.  Tried verifying a second time and still one failed.

Hmmm FNVedit gives this (error?)

[00:04] Background Loader: <Note: RCBridgeOpen02 [NAVM:000BE880] was injected into FalloutNV.esm>

Just noticed another post about texture optimization.  Will go and download that for a try.  Couldn't hurt right ?

Those two injected records

Post by JaxFirehart » Tue Feb 04, 2014 10:06 pm

Those two injected records are normal and fine, nothing to worry about.

Remove all FO3 and TTW stuff from your load order, then tick JUST FO3.esm. If that works tick Anchorage, if that works tick the pitt etc until you encounter one that won't load. DO NOT tick TTW.esm until the very end. This will allow us to determine which ESM it is taking exception to.

with just fallout 3.esm I get the menu, but it won't let me start a new game.

fallout.ini has the SCharGenQuest=001FFFF8

fallout 3 = ok

anchorage = ok

the pitt = ok

Broken Steele = no go

point lookout = no go

zeta = ok

I found a save game on here save_6_courier_vault_101_00_20_38.fos

and used it.  It loads up fine, but still no new game.

OK broken steel and point

Post by JaxFirehart » Wed Feb 05, 2014 1:19 am

OK broken steel and point lookout are your problem. Here's what you need to do. Just delete the BSAs out of your data folder, NOT the esms. So delete Broken Steel - Main, Broken Steel - Sounds, Point Lookout - Main, Point Lookout - Sounds. After that, try loading again. If you can get in game then awesome! that means that you can now play TTW EXCEPT PointLookout and Broken Steel. What this means is that Tobar's boat will be there, but it's model will be missing and you will see a red exclamation point. If you actually get to Point Lookout it will be full of exclamation points. Attempting to proceed with any of the broken steel quests will result in similar things (including missing voices).

I need to rewrite the installer to fix this and, until then, the only real fix is to buy Fallout 3 steam version and use that (not guaranteed either, unfortunately but works for 99% of people).

Let me know if extracting the originals helps. I suspect it may break stuff, but I'm not certain.

I went to the riverboat

Post by ASpelling » Wed Feb 05, 2014 8:27 pm

I went to the riverboat crossing and everything looked good.  I even did player.additem on a variety of Broken Steele and Point lookout items and then equipped and dropped them.  So far so good.  Will let you know if I find anything wrong.  I also forgot how much i loved Fallout 3.  Thank you again for all of your help
