TTW new game not starting.

Post by Andruha » Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:30 pm

I have installed TTW and new game is not starting. All I get is infinite loading. I had to install TTW manually because I get NMM crash every time I try to install TTW.

Checking by install log I have tons of File Not Found: sound\voice\fallout3.esm\... for unknown reason. Probably that's the fault but I have no idea how to fix it.

  • System Specs (including Operating System, Processor, and Memory, nobody cares about your graphics card)

    OS: Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64bit

    CPU: Intel Core i5 2400

    GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ 1GB

RAM: Kingnston HyperX Genesis 1333MHz 4GB

  • Mod Manager and Version

NMM 0.46.0  (not installing for me)

  • TTW Install Log (My Documents\my games\TaleOfTwoWastelands\Install Log.txt)

    Attached

  • Current Load Order (Most mod managers have a quick and easy way to export this)

    FalloutNV.esm=1 Fallout3.esm=1 DeadMoney.esm=1 OldWorldBlues.esm=1 HonestHearts.esm=1 LonesomeRoad.esm=1 GunRunnersArsenal.esm=1 CaravanPack.esm=1 ClassicPack.esm=1 MercenaryPack.esm=1 TribalPack.esm=1 Anchorage.esm=1 BrokenSteel.esm=1 PointLookout.esm=1 ThePitt.esm=1 Zeta.esm=1 TaleOfTwoWastelands.esm=1

    P.S. I tried putting Fallout3.esm after GRA didn't help.

  • Symptoms (What is it doing vs. What you expect it to be doing)

After clicking new game I waited it for load for about 5 min and still isn't loaded. As far as I know new games are loaded within 20-30 seconds.

  • What you have already tried?

Reinstalling FO3, reinstalling FNV, reinstalling TTW, editing .ini by instructions, changing BSAOpt x32.exe to BSAOpt x64.exe.

Additionally, we'd like to have some information on your specific version of Fallout 3:

Fallout 3 game of the year on Steam.

Where did you look to make sure your load order is correct?

Please read  Step 3 under the Manual Installation header on the Alpha Download instructions page.

I have tried load order that was written at step 3 and many other random methods but still that doesn't fix the issue.

So it turns out that load

So it turns out that load order is pretty important, and your load order that you posted is incorrect (unless I'm supposed to read it another way).

Contrary to what you might think, the instructions on the download page which include how to set up a proper load order aren't just 'random methods' or suggestions to get your game to work.

Once you've made sure that you're doing everything that we tell you to as we've carefully outlined on the download page, please also consider killing any unnecessary background applications so that TTW can use as much memory as it needs while you're running the game.

Still no luck. After killing

Post by Andruha » Sun Jan 26, 2014 3:44 pm

Still no luck. After killing everything I could could kill in task manager. After I pressed new game in task manager FNV started to load heavily on CPU (which I have never experienced in vanilla) and was not responding even though 'roulette table' in game was spinning and RAM usage was about 400mb and I still had 40% of RAM free.

Well yes I understand that instructions are not 'suggestions' and as I said I have tried many load orders including the proper one from the instructions. Only after that I started improvising 'maybe this will work'.

The load order you posted is

Post by JaxFirehart » Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:49 pm

The load order you posted is wrong. If all you did was moved Fallout3.esm to after GRA, it's still wrong, because the Pitt is out of order (should be after Anchorage). Load order is very important because TTW is very complex and references multiple masters. Once you get your load order to match what is on the install instructions, export it and post it again. 99% of all problems are load order related so we need to be sure that your load order is perfect before we continue.

Okay I'll rephrase. After I did the load order as mentioned in Alpha Download step number 3 of manual install and nothing changed. Issue still persists.
